Are You Readyyyy? IFC Championship Round FTW!!!

in #ifc6 years ago

Hurray! We are now down to the final two of the 1st ever Information Finding Championship (IFC) Season! Who will win the coveted prize? Hohohooo!!! I am excited to know!

IFC is a contest for finding information on the internet and everywhere else then writing/posting about it here on Steemit. (Plus putting the post link in the contest post of course)

The idea of this is sort of similar to a line of work I'm interested in getting involved in which is internet research. Which is basically like being a human google and finding information and sometimes pulling it together from various sources and adding to it or filtering through less trust worthy information and trying to focus on more reliable information and stuff like that.

Lol, I only read the IFC contest intro post now. I joined the contest rounds in the middle of it because they had various contest topics like bonus art rounds and there were words like aliens and digital castle being thrown around. Who wouldn't be interested? (^_^)

Maybe we should place our bets eh? Hahahaha. Anyway, here's the progression of the winners via my bracket designs.

The Final Sixteen

2 months ago, the championship began with the final sweet sixteen out of the total 39 contenders:

The first championship round was a lot of fun! It was a scavenger hunt. Oh that was fun even though it was challenging. :P I mean, all 16 of us each did things and got to places we've never thought we'd do and go to just to find the things we needed to take a picture of. Oh la la!

We even had to have a tie breaker round for it! More fun!

After the deliberation, the final 8 was announced.

The Final Eight

The second championship round contest theme was about Conspiracy Theories.

Yeah we all have conspiracy theories right? It was fun to finally put all my jumbled thoughts on various things out here for everyone to see. Hahaha. The winners of course had the best entries and was detailed and focused on one conspiracy theory.

The Final Four

Here's the final four IFC winners.

The topic for the third championship round was about UFO/Aliens. That was a fun round to read. :D This is why it doesn't matter much if I had lost in the second round. I just like to read interesting contest entries too. Haha.

And of course, there could only be one winner for each pair of contestants... Now we are down to the final two!!!

The Final Two

@magicalmoonlight & @youhavewings both came out on top from the sweet sixteen. Congratulations to both and good luck for this last championship round! Woohooo!!!

Here's the updated IFC bracket. :)

Look at that, they both were almost opposite each other on the bracket. Cool huh? Now they're really opposite each other.

As for the final championship contest round theme... well it's a best out of three round.

The subjects for the championship will be...

• Love.
• Deliberator's help a beginner round.
• Pick a quest for your opponent.

There you have it folks! Who do you think will win the final championship round? Watch out and follow @ifc and the top two contenders and maybe guess who wins!

(How exciting! Perhaps an ArtGirl mini contest is in order... Or not. Haha. Lemme think.)

As for the grand prize, well it's a big lump of toooot that's for sure. I don't even know the total anymore. :P

XOXO,
@artgirl

P.S. If you don't have Byteball yet read this so we both will get extra $$$. :)

Great post art girl Was fun to read through it and relive it all, you did a great job of telling the story. :) One correction though, there were more than 39 original players, those are just the ones who managed to score at least 1 point and get on the leaderboard.. I'm not sure how many people played total.. I would guess there were probably at least 20 people who played but never scored any points.. So we probably had 60 or so or maybe even more players. :)

there were words like aliens and digital castle being thrown around. Who wouldn't be interested? (^_^)

Lol! That made me smile. It does seem like we have some interesting themes and topics going on. :D That's a plus!

This is why it doesn't matter much if I had lost in the second round. I just like to read interesting contest entries too. Haha.

That's an awesome attitude and I think that's one reason this contest is so great, because of the people. So far virtually everyone has been super respectful even when they lose, and they've been really respectful to their opponents as well! I think that's important, and when you have people playing more cause they enjoy it rather than the money prize reward, I think that makes it better for everyone involved! And yeah winning the prize is great for whoever does, but.. I don't think that's the way to focus on this contest. Sorta like with steemit I think you'll do a lot better if you just play to have fun and not hyperfocus on the money.

There you have it folks! Who do you think will win the final championship round?

I have no idea who is going to win. Either could do a better job than the other! Will be curious to see!! Oh and by the way the grand prize is 158 steem right now.

Thanks for the enjoyable article to read and the bracket artwork and for being such an awesome person in general and for playing in our contest as well. :) I'm really excited about next season and hope you'll be around in one form or another! If you want I can put you on a list to remind you when we start? Either way, it's been a blast and hopefully there's more good memories to come in the future. :) Cheers.

Sure maybe I'll join next season again... Thanks for the corrections. Hehe. Now we know!

You have a very nice re-cap of the season, great read. After reading the final four post, I was more than happy I was sitting that round out. Talk about some fantastic entries, like some of the best for the entire season, and like you I really enjoyed reading them.

Thanks! I'm excited to know who will win. Haha.

I lived seeing the progression of the bracket! That is pretty awesome how they were both ascending to the top 2☺ Great job @artgirl😄

😂 thanks!
