RE: British child mutilation scandal brewing...gender re-assignment staff quitting.

in #informationwar5 years ago (edited)

I will concede that there are cases where gender assignment is necessary. Hermaphroditism is an actual thing, and it is better for some resolution for folks that have incomplete or nonfunctional parts, or otherwise medically justified intervention.

However, there is no other case where medical treatment of gender dysphoria is indicated IMHO. Given a functional body, the most I would allow was not horrible child abuse - whether HRT or surgery - is counseling. Frankly, counseling may well be contributing to the problems these children face in a hostile world. My kids wanted tattoos. They could not get them while I was responsible for their health. I told them that this was my decision until they reached the age of majority, and I explained that it was my duty to their future selves - who would be legally capable of making such decisions for themselves at that time.

That's the duty of a parent, and even my son with tattoos made a point once to thank me for not letting him get them as a child for the reasons I gave. He correctly realized that I wasn't preventing him from making his own decisions. I was preventing me from making the decisions while he was a minor, and making sure that irrevocable bodily alteration was entirely at his own sole option.

That was merely tattoos. How much more vitally important are gender issues! It is not respecting children that medical gender treatment is given them as children. It is preventing their making those decisions for themselves when they alone have the responsibility for them. It is taking that power away from them, and that is a crime, and a sex crime of horribly mutilating children legally incapable of consent which should land every doctor and parent that does such things to children in proper prison and on the sex offender registries applicable in their jurisdictions thereafter.

So is circumcision IMHO. If kids wanna snip off parts they can do that to themselves when it's their right to do so at their sole option. Parents, doctors, and religious folks have no right to do that to them absent medical necessity.

"...it will all fall on the government...and rightly so."

I utterly and absolutely disagree on this point however. Government has no agency. It is not a person, not even a legal fiction, and has neither rights nor responsibilities. It is nothing more in legal theory than a mutual agreement of sovereign persons to effect their common and shared goals.

It is the government officials, agents, and personnel that are responsible for crimes committed by government, from the beat cops to the legislators, and they need to be held accountable for those crimes that they commit under the color of law. Government cannot commit a crime. It can be a crime, or be used to commit a crime, but cannot act in any way. The actual persons employed are the actual guilty parties, and no claimed agreement shields them from their liability for tort and criminal acts they personally commit.

Thanks!

Edit: also, thank God for people whose consciences require them to blow the whistle on such barbarity. Make their yokes be easy all their days, and their burdens light.
