Hello Steem Community
Hello Steem Community, I am John, aka alphajiggy, I am new here and I am just getting situated. I'm starting to get used to the site, I find Steemit to be one of the more interesting blockchain systems and I think it is really my favorite right now. I'm excited about all the new things coming up in the future of Steem and hope to participate in them. I hope everyone is doing well. I am still reading through the guidelines but I wanted to make this introduction post as I was excited to do so, so here I am.
I am a beginning writer and avid gamer. I wrote for my high school newspaper and wrote plenty of essays otherwise then and a bit in the time I was in college. I played video games all throughout those times. I am doing more writing recently and less intensive gaming. I'm hoping to start a witness server soon and join in with the community. I am learning more about cryptocurrency and Steem is one currency that I have found easier to understand, complements to the creators, curators, developers, and community!! I am currently learning about command line tools through a program called Mimo. It's an interesting system you can find in your everyday app store and at https://getmimo.com/
The development of SMTs on the Steem blockchain is also something very exciting to me. This opens up a large new road I think. I am glad this is something that is happening, it sounds awesome. There are so many things that can potentially be done with SMTs and a lot of people who can be helped in many different ways.
I learned of Steem and Steemit through @jerrybanfield. I watched through his course late last year, so around this time, November-Decemberish in 2017. I wanted to join and start a witness server then but was not yet completely ready to do so; I had a lot of information to process at the time. The course I found was one of hundreds of various technical computer courses I gained access to through Science Alert.Academy. I found their deals when I was reading through the daily news I would read on Apple News at the time. That was interesting and out of the ordinary.

The concept is that they upvote those who enroll in the program on the posts they make to increase post rewards. They do about a 0.0060 upvote on posts from what I understand. I will make a post to test out their process and let you know if I find out anything further. By sponsoring you into the program I think that also brings me into the program.
