I Want to become a Engineer!

Communicating to other people is not really my type but I promise myself to be more confident expressing myself to everyone through blogging. Now, the world of blogging is a little bit closer to my heart and soul. This is my first time making a blog and it starts here at Steemit. Now, I whisper to myself and saying: “come on let’s do this”.

Hello Steemit!
My name is Johnlerry Idal, I’m 21, I came from Tubod, Lanao del Norte (LDN) “The land of beauty and bounty” and now, currently living in ILIGAN CITY, Philippines. I’m not really good at writing, singing and dancing but when it comes to sports and having good friends I can proudly say that I am good at it.

I was born at Dableston, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, LDN. When I was young I think I’m in 6 years old, my dad and mom decided to move in tubod because he got a good job there. At the time past by at the age of 11 years old at that time I made up my mind to become a good and wise engineer just like my father someday it is because I was inspired and curious of what he always does in his room. I really love math and science but it was not the reason why I take the engineering, the only reason is that my father inspires me to be an engineer. To assure that I can get my dream of becoming an engineer I studied well. And now I’m in college level taking a Ceramics Engineering in Mindanao State University – Iligan institute of technology (MSU-IIT). I take Ceramics engineering because I want to study about In-organic, non-metallic materials. In this course, you will learn all theoretical part of ceramic processing. You will know ceramic is not only used in basic application and it has advance properties that are being used in extraordinary application like nuclear reactors, Main parts of the rocket and much more application you never heard of. But there is a time when I really want to give up my studies because it’s hard but I remember about what my dad taught me that “Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset and upside down I know you can do it”. At that time, I realize that I have a dream and I know I can do this but now I’m in 4th year standing one year to go I will finish this course and have a decent job so I can help my family soon.

Me and My OLD MAN. (sorry for the low quality)

KNOWING STEEMIT:

My friend/dormmate named @asbonclz asked me if I would like to earn extra money while schooling. And I was stumbled of what I have heard so I ask for the link and then I saw this STEEMIT so I research what is steemit about? What are the steem currency? Where can I get the money? So, this is what I got:

What is steemit about?

Steemit is a social network. Steemit pays both the content creators when their work gets upvoted, as well as the people who assist the best content on the site by upvoting others work.
This is possible because the Steemit platform is built on top of a new kind of digital currency called Steem. (Think Bitcoin, which is another kind of digital currency that has been around for a while.)
Every day, new Steemit currency units that are created by the network and distributed to the people who engage with the site. The more you engage, the more you get. People who create content are rewarded for their content. People who upvote content are rewarded for helping to curate the best content available on the site. Commenters who add to the discussions are paid too.

The 3 Steemit Currency Units:

  1. Steem:
Steem are the units that are bought and sold for actual money on the open markets. You can trade them as you would bitcoins or a company’s stock.
But you don’t want to hold on to these for too long because more Steem Units are created every single day. If you hold this for a long time, the value of the money will be less.
  2. Steem Power:
Owning Steem Power Units is essentially like making a long-term investment in the currency because you can’t sell Steem Power Units for 2 years. But there are a lot of good reasons to have Steem Power.
By keeping your currency as Steem Power Units, you will be able to make considerably more money in the long run because you essentially have ownership in the network. As the network grows, so will your piece of the pie.
And you’ll be heavily rewarded along the way. The way things are set up now, 90% of the new Steem Currency that is generated every single day is distributed to the people who already hold Steem Power Units in the form of additional Steem Power Units. The other 10% goes to content creators and curators.
Half of the pay you receive for your content will be in Steem Power Units.
Also, the more Steem Power Units you have, the more your curation vote will count. You will have more influence on the site and you will also get paid more for upvoting other people’s work. (When you upvote someone’s work, they will get paid more as well.
  3. Steem Dollars:
Steem Dollars are the third and final form of the currency and never get diluted or lose their value. They are designed to be a stable currency that you can sell at any time. When you create popular content, 50% of your pay will be in Steem Dollars.
And you’ll be rewarded for holding Steem dollars too. It’s not nearly as much as the rewards for holding Steem Power. But because it still keeps the currency in the network, holding Steem Dollars pays 10% interest.

Where can I change the money?

  1. You can convert the Steem Dollars to Steem and sell it immediately on the open market for real money, essentially cashing out.
  2. You can hold the Steem Dollars, which keeps the money in the network and pays you 10% interest. You can sell them at any time. If you think the value will go up and want to sell at some point in the near future, this is your best option.
  3. You can exchange your Steem Dollars for Steem Power. If you want to invest in the future of the currency and reap the biggest rewards, this is the way to do it.

thanks for stopping by, maam @kiligirl.

Amazing where resteems take you on any given day, @glyphzero! I've seen at least three budding or practising engineers by reading others' posts this morning. I wish you well with your engineering and Steemit journeys. 😊😊

Thank you so much ma'am @kiligirl. i'm so excited for my journey in here. hopefully i will become as good as all of you in here. :)

You're so welcome, @glyphzero! One of the keys on this platform is just to stay true to yourself. Some of the best advice I've found recently was in this post: https://steemit.com/community/@luzcypher/how-to-find-or-create-your-community-on-steemit. Patience, and treating it like a group of people in the real world will help you find your Steemit voice and have impact in the Steemit world. Good luck! 😊😊

A pleasure, @glyphzero 😊😊

Thank you so much ma'am for your advice. :)

And thank you for calling me ma'am 🙃. You'd be surprised at the number of people on this platform who call me bro then expect a response! 😂🤣😎

But you can call me Linsey. Cheers 😊😊
