제 5장 관념의 타파

1. 아상을 버려라

나' 하나 죽는다면 아무것도 붙을 자리가 없어 욕심을 낼 것도 착을 둘 것도, 남을 원망하고 싸우고 할 것도 없다.나'가 살았기에 나로 인해 밖에서 들러붙고 안에서 일어나고, 착이 붙고 욕심이 붙는다. 나'를 불바퀴에 그대로 내동댕이친다면 무엇이 두렵겠는가. 하늘이 무너져 내리든지 내가 뭉개지든지 상관 않고 무조건 내맡겨야만 업식을 항복받을 수 있다. 그렇게나'가 없기에 나의 불기둥은 우주와 직결된다.

1. Abandon the illusions

If I' were to die, there would be no place for anything to attach, no place for greed, no place for kindness, no place for resenting others, no place for fighting. Because theI' is alive, it sticks to the outside and rises up from the inside, and goodness and greed attach to it. What is there to be afraid of if I leave the `I' in the fiery wheel, regardless of whether the sky is falling or I am being crushed, but only by unconditionally surrendering it can I receive the surrender of karma. Since there is no "I," my pillar of fire is directly connected to the universe.
