KUIFJE - TIN TIN IS 60 YEARS OLD TODAY ... DID YOU READ HIS STRIPS
Today My alltime favorite comic strip character is 60 years old. I remember Getting My first one from My grandmother while I had a sleepover at her house. I love the fact that TIN TIN had a dog. The white fluffy Bobby. We had a dog When I was growing up so I could identify. We got a New comic book When we went on holiday. We would read it multiple times in the car. Maybe I should get the boys one too and leave all the electronic divices at home ! A TIN TIN DETOX 😉
Offcourse TIN TIN also went to become a movie. Maybe I should look that one up and Watch it with the kids. @blewitt is this a huge seller in your store or are we here in Europe bigger fans?
If you search WIKIPEDIA it says : The Adventures of Tintin (French: Les Aventures de Tintin) is a comic series about the fictional reporter Tintin, drawn by the Belgian scriptwriter and cartoonist Hergé (1907-1983). The series started as a newspaper strip in 1929 and the first album appeared in 1930.
I know that here in the Netherlands many collect the comic strips and the really old ones are collectors items.

Als kind had ik alle boeken van Kuifje, maar indertijd werd er vaak smalend tegen me gezegd: "je kijkt alleen maar plaatjes".
Dat vond ik toen een belediging; het kwam ook over als neerbuigend. Maar het was wel degelijk waar.
Volgens mijn ouders was ik "Leesblind", tegenwoordig zou het dyslexie heten.
Indertijd waren er geen "therapieën" voor, je groeide er wel overheen en dat is deels ook waar: je hebt het er maar mee te doen en je dealt er gewoon mee.
Hoe dan ook, ik ben duidelijk vooral visueel aangelegd van kinds af aan en inderdaad heb ik vroeger alle boeken van kuifje "gelezen".
Pas later ben ik me gaan realiseren dat ik ze nooit echt heb gelezen, want ik zou totaal niet kunnen vertellen waar die verhalen echt over gingen.
Uiteraard wel een beetje, maar de echte verhaallijn, het hoe en waarom van de gebeurtenissen, het is me nooit duidelijk geworden, maar ik smulde van de "klare stijl" waarin het getekend is.
De stijl die je ook zag bij Joost Swarte en een beetje bij Theo Uitenboogaard ( die Sjef van Oekel strips tekende met Wim T Schippers)
Ik hou nog steeds van kuifje, maar ik snap dus ook nog steeds amper waar het over gaat....
Ja en alweer 60 jaar

I've read a lot of Strips (as we'd call them in Dutch), TinTin (kuifje) being one of my absolute favorite ones. I loved the suspense and the way the stories unfolded.
