The Children Making Cooked Bananas

Teaching children the joy of work is a parents gravest responsibility. You have to make it enjoyable so that they also will love to continue on being self sufficient and actually love their ability to work and help the family.  All work and no play only frustrates the child and teaches them nothing. But when you sprinkle it all together and add a dash of love, you raise children who are confident and hard workers. They learn to work hard and to play just as hard. They in turn, will pass these lessons to the next generation, teaching their children to work hard, while they also take time to have fun.

Family Cooked Banana Recipe

Cut up 6-8 fresh bananas and add a couple apples and some sliced fresh ginger.

Add about 4-6 cups water.

Add cinnamon and simmer

Simmer one hour.

Let cool some and then mash up slightly and add honey to taste.

Note: We make this as a treat after dinner, as well as put some up for when we do not have bananas. We also dry bananas in groups of 8, so as to be able to make it easily with dried bananas.

 Ephesians 6:4

Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to resentment], but rear them [tenderly] in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord.

Very true! It is a fine line between teaching kids how to work and being a ruler over them. I probably need to do better at this. Raising kids is hard! :) Thanks for the post. I enjoy keeping up with your blog.

Thank you @apanamamama. As I am in the position to help influence grandchildren and great grandchildren, I have had a few years to see what worked and where I could have done better. I love teaching the next two generations the skills I learned on my own at the age of 19, in Northern Alaska on my first homestead. Now we are blessed with four generations on the land.

Wow! Four generations on the land is amazing!! :)

This is really amazing...Teaching the kids how to prepare some dish.

The kids love doing whatever we do, so we have many things ready for small hands and big hearts. Thank you @odsam2.
