What is in your heart spills over into life. If you read the Bible it says to love one another. The golden rule was taught to me and was expected in my childhood. If you plant good seed into good soil, it will bring forth fruit. If you plant hate, what will grow from it? Certainly nothing I want to harvest. Good things aren't necessarily the physical objects and toys we see everywhere, either. A good friendship can be more rewarding than a new car, but I understand what you're saying.
