Random acts of kindness

Yesterday we took full advantage of a break in the grey clouds here in the Swiss mountains to go out and do a small 2 hour hike.

This was also the first time that @milu-the-dog came with on such a long walk which was a test on all of us. She had trouble walking back down the mountain so I had to carry this 6kg puppy most of the way down. But I would prefer to have a happy and healthy puppy in the end so that was no real big issue.

When we arrived back at the parking lot a man asked if we were by car and if we could help him jumpstart his car. He had accidentally left the lights on. As this is the least we could do we of course gave him a jumpstart. I mean, you would like someone to do the same for you if the situation is reversed right?

Good random act of kindness accomplished and feeling good about ourselves we drove home down the mountain and came across this view

So the Swiss mountains are a heaven for motor bikes are a real popular destination. But there are also people with sportscars racing the curves.
When you combine those this is an option of what can happen. Some small sportscar cut off this German biker and he had to swerve. Luckily there was no rock wall or ravine where he had to do this. The bike got stuck on the side of the road with no one hurt. The car just drove off either not seeing this or the driver did and did not want to face the biker.

We stopped to see if we can help and then in about 10 minutes there were about 10 men stopped to help out this stranger. We put some belts in the wheels and lifted this 270kg motorbike up the hill and then slowly rolled it down while the rain started pouring down.

In the end everything turned out well

The bike started again and wasn't even scratched. In this case it was a happy ending but it could have been worse.

I got back into the car soaked to my skin but really with a feeling of a job well done and putting another tick on my Karma side.

I try to help out people if I can and found it strange people just driving by a scene like this without even stopping.
