Did you know that Ghana celebrates farmers in agriculture this day every year? It is called "Farmers Day". On this day, farmers are given much recognition for the wonderful jobs they have performed to ensure the existence of food within the year.

Poultry farmers, fishermen and activities that are to ensure production of food in the country are all given same recognition on this day. Just as always, it is currently ongoing at various district and regional capitals nationwide. Farmers do receive massive support from the government and other NGOs for their incredible work during the year.

Farm tools and chemicals are given to farmers to help ensure the continuous operation of farming acyivities. As the day has been, l stepped into the market to see how the day will obviously be observed since it is pronounced a holiday.

The Ghanaian market has always been busy even on sundays when most traders are expected to be at the church house catching the Holy spirit. A sector of the Kejetia market is where l find myself today just to see how farmers day will be observed by traders at the market.

Indeed, Ghana is so much blessed with food. The market of Ghana always has abundant food making everything so cheap and affordable. I share these food stuff with my readers today. Farmers certainly have to be rewarded for making all those food available all over the country.

Here are some yams, plantain, cassava, tomatoes, garden eggs and so many different stuff all smiling at people at the market place. These are all the effort of farmers in the country. Ghana really is so much blessed to have a fertile land that everything else that is grown here grows very well. Here are some photos for your view.

Hi, Sam! @mcsamm

Happy Farmers Day to all the Farmers in Ghana! They certainly deserve all the recognition they receive! I am not sure I have ever seen a country that is so well-equipped to feed their people! It is necessary to give support, otherwise, this would not be the case. It is hard work and doesn't pay as well as it needs to.

Talk about an incredible market! I love, love, love coming with you to the Ghanian Markets! The colors of the fabrics worn always catch my eye as do those giant yams that will feed a village! I need to take a picture of a yam from the United States. You would laugh.

Such a blessed country to have such fertile land - I call it the land of plenty. The vegetables look fresh and nicely marketed. The people are all lined up in an organized way. What a wonderful market.

And best of all, the big smiles upon the face of people. What a wonderful life when you can wear your smile. I appreciate the time and effort of you bringing me here and showing off this wonderful market!

Have a blessed day, Sam!
