RE: Why I'm joining Narrative Network (Steemit competitor)

in #narrative6 years ago

Hmm interesting. I feel steemit has a big advantage because it has dtube but as you said it has some big problems too. I have checked out some other platforms. ono which is so slow its unuasable . mithrill pretty nice but more focused on china. And trybe which i really like as its more about blockchain.

Sort:

Dtube is getting less and less popular as they appear to delete ( older ) videos without notifying their users. I learnt about it, yesterday, by coincidence. I did not even no ONO had started. I never received an invite, even though I subscribed. Never heard of mithrill or trybe but thanks for the info!

Hey, @vincentnijman.

Trybe is just barely getting started, and will be running on the EOS platform from what I've read. All of these platforms are still in production/alpha/early beta stages and will take time to catch up. They will all need community to do so, and they will have to be better from the beginning to get enough people there. I think it's all great information, and at some point, I may be playing on all kinds of platforms until I can settle on one or two. :)

That's not cool regarding Dtube. Seems like they keep going downhill. Dlive seems to be doing a better job, even if they're more of a streaming platform to begin with.

True that and I agree with you that, from a personal perspective, especially if you aim to make money a living on writing, it's always clever to bet on more than one horse.

I, personally, don't see myself writing for and posting on a handful of different platforms, but I'm flexible enough to try my hand on two or three of them or leave one ( Steemit? ) behind if it isn't doing the trick anymore

Have a nice day!

Hey, @vincentnijman. I'm in agreement on betting on more than one horse. It's just getting the horse up and running. I can see myself working more than one platform as soon as they exist and are more or less to the same stage that Steemit was when I started. There's been quite a few apps come online since I've started, too. So, with the Hard Fork coming next month and the other things still in the works, who knows what STEEM looks like before the end of the year.

to be honest i still use youtube the most haha steemit has more dapps thats what i was really saying. yeah same i never got my ono code as well. you can sign up but you need an invite code from some one else my code is KNKM fell free to use it. ono atm is so slow its almost unusable tho

That is interesting information @cryptoslicex.

Have you tried Minds. That's another one I hear people talking about a lot? 😊

nar not yet havent heard of it. seems to be alot of new social media projects good competition for steemit

Very true, dtube has been a huge part of steemits success, especially with all the demonetization happening at youtube. Ono seems ok but I think they are going to run into some awkward situations with regulation as soon as they get some momentum. Mithril is just not my thing, I’m into writing and sharing ideas, sometimes visual arts and music, not too into short video clips or even vlogging. Didn’t know about trybe
