Touch The Earth With Your Skin

in #nature5 years ago

We are a part of the Earth. We are made from the same substance. We are part of the ecosystem of the planet and a part of the food chain. Contrary to what people may think, we're nowhere near the top of that food chain. We have some advantages over the rest of the organisms that inhabit our planet, so we've managed to surpass many of them in population. Even then, we are by no means the most populous - far from it. Consider that there are more bacteria in one human body, approximately, than the grand sum of humans that have ever existed!

Anyhow, what we have also managed to do is isolate ourselves from mother Earth. I'm not even talking about the killing of our symbiotic microprobes with chemicals and antibiotics. Yes that is a part of it for sure. I am talking about a literal isolation, or more specifically, insulation.

We have insulated ourselves from the Earth

We are electric beings. We are made significantly of water, with electrolytes, so we are excellent conductors of electricity. Our brain uses electric signals to function, and communicate with our body (and others humans via electromagnetic field?).

Like any device that uses electricity, there is a need for an earth escape for the current for many reasons.

We are supposed to touch the Earth. We are supposed to be in contact with the planet almost all the time, but nooooo, we have invented shoes made of insulating material - rubber, plastic and so on. We have built homes with carpet floors, vinyl floors, layered on top of insulation. We drive or take public transport to work and spend all day on carpet floors or sitting with our feet up against some insulated platform on the 7th floor of a high-rise building.

You can basically go all day, perhaps weeks, living in a modern city like London without touching the Earth once! Like really touching it with your skin like you're supposed to.

One of the effects of this is a build up of static electricity in our bodies. Can you imagine what our brains and heart are having to cope with? There is a high level of electrical noise through which the signals have to pass. I can only imagine our bodies at times would get the wrong instruction from the brain simply because the instructions were changed en route by static electricity (I'm speculating here, I have no data on this).

Regular earthing puts your body at the correct voltage and I can only imagine gives your brain and heart a better environment to function in. I used to think this stuff was woowoo - like the conscious breathing thing as well, but I have changed my mind about that now ever since I put some serious thought into it.

Lol - point taken!

Consider that there are more bacteria in one human body, approximately than the grand sum of humans that have ever existed!

Human cells make up only 43% of the body's total cell count. The rest are microscopic colonists.

I agree @adetorrent
It's easy sometimes to think of ourselves as separate from the rest of nature, but we are in an ecosystem and connected to everything else around us, living and inanimate.

It’s amazing isn’t it? ☀️☀️
