It so fulfilling to be able to extend the life of a garment you've made yourself, @akipponn. It looks great.
Of course you could always add a knitted section to the sides like a long strip / a cable section or contrasting colour section... you know, a bit like the tails you've knitted... There are ways.
I had never contemplated knitting a towel. I look forward to seeing what you make :D
I would like to try the width extension but unfortunately it's a top down knitted sweater and no seam on the sides and sleeves ... But it's a really good idea to remember for future :)
When your daughter can't wear it anymore, perhaps another child will be able to enjoy it, @akipponn :D - it is a beautifully made sweater, but children outgrow they clothes so fast.
(And somehow I look forward to knitting a new one next season :D)
