How Patient Are You? See how a mobile device can train you to be patience !

Today, Wednesday, 9th May 2018 is an election day for Malaysia. It was a hot morning in the polling center in Subang Jaya where I went for the voting. But this blog is not about election events but about how patient are you in a long queue?

I arrived at about 9.40am into a primary school in USJ2 which is one of the polling centers in Malaysia. I found my way to where I belong and started to queue behind a woman. The place where I stopped is merely 20 feet away from the polling room but there is already a long queue behind the door. The queue is so long that voters are standing in the corridor going around the building in a reverse manner. The queue is made up of about 200 voters. All of them are senior citizens in the line. ( so am I ).

The sun was strong up in the sky and lucky there is corridor we can stand to queue. Then I noted that today is a special day that all citizens are equal in status and all must queue along. No priority is given.

In all the election day I have attended, this year is a little special. Yes, the sun is hot, and the queue is long but the crowd is exceptionally quiet. Long around the photos, most of them are busy watching or using their mobile devices - the smartphone in most cases. Thanks to the invention of smartphone and mobile application that connect users wherever they are. Messenger apps like Whatsapp, Wechat, Facebook. Most voters were busy chatting away with their friends or business associates while in the queue. That is the main reason why the crowd is so quiet.

Thanks to the invention of mobile devices and the mobile application that keep user attention in focus. In a way, keep voters busy with the business with their website or chat away in messenger apps while standing in the long and hot queue. Don't you think these tasks help to drive away your impatience?

For me, I also did some Disocord, WhatsApp as well as browsing steemit blogs. But I spend most of my time practicing my qigong posture instead of merely standing in the queue. The time passes very fast for me. Without realizing it, I have been in the queue for almost 3 hours and 45 hours when I finally reached the entrance to the polling room to cast my vote.

Just look at the queue in the photo and you will agree with me most voters in the queue were busy with their mobile devices.

So, in future, bring along your smartphone and start chatting with friends while you are in a queue. It will train up your patience for sure
