Just a quickie from the north
Hi all.
I was down by the Athabaska river after work attempting to catch some supper. This river is about 15 miles from the NWT border with Saskatchewan. It's super sweet here in July-August. Never gets dark and you can catch beautiful Arctic Grayling all night!

So it was way too windy today, so hopefully after work tomorrow, we can head to a waterfall area I know here, and hopefully the wind is down. It's still gonna be cold, but we'll still find those fishies!
Here's what a Grayling looks like.
I expect to catch lake suckers, Northern Pike, and possibly Burbouts. But hopefully some tasty Grayling and Pickerel.

I live not too far from the Mighty Fraser river that has a few different species of Salmon, Sturgeon and a few others, but highly regulated especially now since stocks have been decimated. Had a few opportunities while my kids were young enough to receive free fishing licences. Now that they're over 16 we have to pay for a license.
You live on an area that is made for hobby fishing! Hit the Pitt valley for walleye, it's not that far away, but locally, you are a winner, the Fraser River is the real deal! Fly-fishing, spearfishing, bow fishing, go get it my friend.
I wanna see some posts of you killing it on the river! Go get it!
