Can't say I'm a cruise person either. Mostly cos I hate boats and get really seasick. However, you make some valid points here about stopping in at places, which I will add to my list of arguments next time someone wants me to go on one with them.
Seasickness shouldn't be a problem as the ships are massive nowaday, but it's the thought of being stuck on board all the time. Hopefully you'll build up a decent list
