Greetings Steemit Open Mic Brothers and Sisters.

This is my entry for this weeks open mic.These last few days I have been learning a song called My Name is London Town by an English folk musician named Reg Meuross.

I found Reg's music through the GemsonVHS youtube channel a few weeks ago and was very impressed by the style of his songwriting.

He writes in the style of old folk musicians like Woody Guthrie.The songs tell the stories of places and people and paint vivid images in the mind.

The song is still very fresh and new to me but I feel I got a decent version recorded for this weeks contest.

I'm the dome of St Paul's and the Regents Park Mosque
I'm the temple of the Arsenal and White Heart Lane

Im the bomb at Victoria the fire at Kings Cross
Im the 9 o clock dole que and the ten clock train

of carousel dreams of beauty and pain

My streets paved with gold from the bold highway meters
Dick Whittingtons ghost in an old turning lane
