Certainly is tricky times. USA needs to rebuild manufacturing of many many products we now get from China and abroad cheaply. The only motivation and pressure to do that will come from a stiff tax on imports. So in effect the taxes are not there only to punish and change China practices and behavior. It is as much for us to change our practice of dependency on foreign made goods. Many employers find it difficult to get good reliable staff even for fast food. I don't know many Americans that will take up work in manufacturing plants for +60 hour work weeks on what is likely to be low paying jobs. Of course poverty and survival will inspire many to it. Just sucks that is what kind of pain and suffering its going to take.
