How often, in an argument, do you hear the phrase "Get Real", or "Reality Check"?

If I showed you a 2 minute video clip of a person being shot, without context, how could you determine if it was real or not?

Was it from a movie? Was it from the news?

If I told you it was from the news, or that I recorded it myself, being a witness to the event, does that make it more real?

What process of determination occurred, in the background, to give you the consensus, that it was real?

What gives a commercial, for profit, media corporation its credence as authoritative, in regards to the truth, when it shows you footage, that could be anything at all, from anywhere at at all, but your acceptance of what you're witnessing, comes directly, from the commentary provided by a paid employee, of the said for profit company, whose profits come from unknown sponsors?

Whilst working on an archaeological project in WA, for an indigenous group, I was told a history from an elder, that he received, as a young boy, directly from his grandmother, who was present at the time, of colonial first contact in WA.

This history was profoundly different, to the history that I was taught in school.

What gives the education department, its authority, as a meta theory, over other cultures history, in much the same way as science and religion do?

Did Neil Armstrong land on the moon in 1969?

If you believe that he did, why do you believe that?

Do you KNOW that? No, of course you don't. You weren't there. (If you were, please DM me on discord, Id love to hear from you).

You believe that, on faith, from information provided to you by an empire that profits from you giving them your belief, bit by bit, in history, science, religion, so that collectively, you associate that empire, as authoritative.

Do we live on a ball, spinning at 1,000 mph, revolving around a nuclear furnace, 93,000,000 miles away, or do we live on a domed disc, surrounded by an ice wall?

Do you KNOW ?

Again, no, you don't know. Which ever of these 2 theories that you accept as real, you accept, as faith, on information provided to you.

Does this mean that your school teachers were evil manipulators, who lied to you?

Not necessarily. remember, they too were educated in the same system.

Prior to the industrial revolution in the 18th century, literacy amongst the masses did not exist. Only out of the necessity to understand and operate basic machinery, was literacy introduced to the masses.

Prior to this, this "magic" was in the hands of royalty and nobility, who ruled by "divine right". It was they, who produced the education system that educated the educators.

We now live in a society where we take medical advice from industries that profit from us being sick, financial advice from industries that profit from us being in debt.

So, I ask you again, what is real?

Everything that you believe to be true, beyond your own personal experience, in a legal context, is simply hear say.

Anyone who has taken psychedelics, be it psilocybin, DMT, or LSD, has a very different take on reality from those who haven't had that experience.

Is one more real than the other?
