Considering we've had electricity and electric lighting for 140 years and in that time things have gradually progressed to the point where we have the technology that we do today. I think it's not hard to see that the rate of advancement is exponentially increasing as time goes on and the idea that the technology we are using today will likely be obsolete in the next 20-40 years is kind of daunting. It's interesting for sure, but there's certainly some challenging problems that we'll have to face. Just thinking about the decline in human interaction since social media came about is pretty daunting... when we've basically made ourselves obsolete with machines and AI, I wonder how many people are going to have no way to do anything to make a living... who knows what the future holds though.
