RE: Coffee and Philosophy Ep. 77

in #philosophy5 years ago

A very interesting subject and very much present.
I think we all seen the change in the last couple of years in tecnology and AI.
More and more are run by computers and it has its own life in a way.
Its scary to think about how The future might be.
I work in preeschool and not to long ago we Went to a studio and met a Robot that was doing all kinds of gymnastic things to teach The kids 😕 do we want that?

Its a topic that I find interesting but also scary.
Thank you for sharing this and hope you are having a fantastic evening. Cheers!

Considering we've had electricity and electric lighting for 140 years and in that time things have gradually progressed to the point where we have the technology that we do today. I think it's not hard to see that the rate of advancement is exponentially increasing as time goes on and the idea that the technology we are using today will likely be obsolete in the next 20-40 years is kind of daunting. It's interesting for sure, but there's certainly some challenging problems that we'll have to face. Just thinking about the decline in human interaction since social media came about is pretty daunting... when we've basically made ourselves obsolete with machines and AI, I wonder how many people are going to have no way to do anything to make a living... who knows what the future holds though.
