Banff National Park & Canmore - The Canadian Rocky Mountains

in #photofeed6 years ago (edited)

Ahhh...it's so good to be back.

We have been exploring Banff National Park and Canmore these past few days. We have had some beautiful weather and there is even some aurora action in the forecast. Here's some of my favourite spots so far.

Two Jack Lake

I have been wanting to shoot at Two Jack Lake for quite some time. What a spot! I'd love to get back here at night for some astrophotography.

Lake Minnewanka

Minnewanka looks awesome at the moment. There are thin sheets of ice still blanketing the lake and the colour is so striking. It won't be long until it has fully thawed.

Lake Louise

The lake is still mostly frozen so no turquoise coloured water just yet. The glacier that feeds Lake Louise is an amazing sight though.

Castle Mountain

A long exposure shot of the fog rolling through the valley. Can you see how this mountain got its name?

Mount Rundle

We had this amazing view right from our campground. We camped for a couple of nights on top of Tunnel Mountain. I could not believe the view of Mount Rundle and the Bow Valley.

Johnston Canyon

I love this secret (not so secret) spot at Johnston Canyon. It seems like every man and his dog knows about this spot now. But I still had a brief moment for this selfie.

And does anyone know if this little guy is a chipmunk or a squirrel?

Rundle Forebay Reservoir

When the conditions are just right, you can get some really nice reflections of Mount Lawrence Grassi on the Rundle Forebay Reservoir.

Grassi Lakes

The hike up to Grassi Lakes is beautiful. The views along the way are excellent and the lakes themselves are a stunning colour.

Three Sisters

I love this quiet spot along Policeman Creek. The Three Sisters are three iconic peaks named Faith, Charity and Hope. Or Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister.

We've got a few more days here and I'm looking forward to sharing more pics with you soon.

Cool photos, nice post.

No worries, and sorry I guess, the pleasestop guy said I'm spamming you. I really did like it though.

Yeah what the heck is going on here?

Please Stop - @gguy773

You just said "nice post" and in your your last 100 comments you used 40 phrases considered to be spam and you made this exact same comment 1 times. I don't understand, I am not allowed to say nice things and give complements in other people post?

Making simple comments like "great picture" creates unnecessary transactions which impact bandwidth.

If anyone is spamming it is you.

A few points to support a contrary position.

Your spam score is now at 80.3% and my score is only 29.7% and this is a separate API that I am not affiliated with at all. So, an objective third party using machine learning views you as spam more than me.

Also, your account is 64 days old with your reputation at 39, while my account is only 18 days old and has reached a reputation of 49.

The data, at least, suggests you are incorrect.

Making comments for comments sake will impact bandwidth which literally harms the blockchain itself. My work is focused on blockchain stability, so please do not take my replies personally.

That said, would you please remove your two flags on my comments here?

So..does every comment need to be a minimum amount of words? As far as I can see from his comment history, there hasn't been anything to warrant this warning.

Aside from the reply above here are some recent comments:

  • Looks awesome!
  • Cool photos, nice post.
  • Great photo!

These do not speak directly to the post or otherwise add value .

Read my reply above and the links included and you'll understand why these transactions harms the blockchain.

I will be expecting you(smiles)

Wow! Very nice pictures. I went in rocky mountain few years ago but i didn't heard about Johnston Canyon, and it's wonderful!

Oh you'll just have to come back. The canyon is really cool. I'm yet to see it in Summer but apparently the water turns a beautiful turquoise colour like the lakes

It will be so great to go back! I went during a road trip across West Canada and USA in 2015. I imagine this place with the water, it's wonderful this color, I remember the lake Peyto!!

Wowza! Look at that colour. Peyto Lake is one of my favourite lakes in the Rockies. You captured it perfectly 👌

I have more photos like this. I will post some articles in a few weeks!

Excellent. I look forward to seeing them 💙

That photo of Johnston Canyon is breathtaking! Wow.

In my opinion, the critter is a chipmunk. :-)

Thanks very much. I love that place.

That's what I think too! All the signage around here is telling me otherwise but ima go with chipmunk 😁

And when one sees a chipmunk, it's a possible reminder from Mother Nature/The Universe to be playful, have fun, make wishes, and believe in magic. :-D

I like it! 😁

Yay chipmunk!

Squirrels have more..."flare": a long, curly, bushy tail.

Haha...! Love it. More flare. Reminds me of the movie Office Space. I think it's a chipmunk too. Name sounds cuter anyways 😉

Breathtaking, beautiful, fabulous...I can taste the clean air through those photos. You're making me itch to get on the road. I have to visit that part of the world someday. Looking forward to your next post already. Safe travels :)

Why thank you very much! So much beauty in one place. I hope you can make it here one day.

That's the thing with travel. You never feel like you've seen everything. There's always another country or place to visit. I think that's kinda cool. Thanks for following along 💙

My pleasure, travel blogs are wonderful. They come from people who are being themselves and often finding out about themselves IMO. Stories of people having the time of their lives are so uplifting I find. I've just posted part 1 of my Norwegian Cycling Adventure. It's been fun to write, remembering the travel experience. You should check it out I think you may like it. Warm wishes :)

Oh I love your story! Can't wait to hear more. You should be very proud of yourself.
