Macro at night

in #photofeed5 years ago

In my #monomad post from yesterday I already mentioned that I had been playing with my macro extension tubes. Did this at night and used two small plastic light figures for lighting the photo subjects. As I had all the extension tubes combined mounted on the camera for these shots, 36mm + 20mm + 12mm, in combination with manual focus. So no shooting from the hand this time. But because my tripod is on it's way (from China) I build a nice setup with some wood blocks and used my phone for shutter control after I thought the focus was good. I am still quite impressed what you can do with these simple extension tubes. But enough talk, lets get to the photo's. Click on any shot for a full res version.

We start this series with some shots I took of my keys. I used a white and a green lamp for indirect lighting, the green cactus lamp gives the nice green glow on the keys.

My next subject was already lying there as it's our outside dining table. The first shot here is the
braided plastic wicker from the table frame, the second shot is the acacia wooden tabletop.

Next shots are of some herbs we have growing in our fence, we created a nice hanging herb garden containing Moroccan mint, Thyme, Basel, and chives. We will be expending this in the near future.
For the macro shooting session I used a branch of Thyme and a branch of Mint.

Finally I took some shots of a screw and a crown stone that where on top of the wooden 4x6 I grabbed for creating my camera setup. I used a screw shot yesterday as my entry in the #monomad challenge. If you are in to mono photography have a look at the @monochromes account for this great challenge. For this post another shot of the same screw.

So this was it for now with this selection of macro's I shot last weekend. Have been over thinking splitting this post up into multiple posts per subject but liked it more as one post. And I don't want to do flood posting, so I hope you guys enjoy this longer post.
Next macro shoot I will do at daytime so I will get less static on the shots and I can get away with lesser editing. I hope you like this set,

Have an amazing day!

I see, you started to have fun with macro :=)

Indeed having fun with the macro tubes. Good for now and will have a look later for a macro enabled lens (still have your comment in mind about your friend building macro lenses).

:=)
I put my macro on the shelf, as I ( still! ) cant reach out to my countryside hideout, and dont inspired to take macro shots of my local environment (as you :)

btw, did I boast to you I made a decisive blow to the family budget and acquired Canon 16-35 2.8L which is never cheap? happily I got it secondhanded, so, after all we are still alive and capable of paying the bills :P

its my 1st (and maybe the last!) lens from pro L series... what can I say. it works like a charm..

I like to make macro shots of everyday objects. Would like to do some macro bug shots but that's quite hard with just the extension tubes mounted. AF is not working super and I miss a tripod (is on its way from China).
Oooh that's a nice investment you made. But did you came home with the lens as a tada moment or where you wiser and discussed it before you bought it. I did the first option with my 70-300 double focus Nikon lens ;). But as long as you can still pay the bills no problem.

Oh!!! Me like it!

Thank you so much @blacklux

Nice a lot of macro shot.

Thank you so much @kamrunnahar
