Something is bugging me!

Today I was lucky discovering a bug ... before it was too late.

When a developer starts to tell a story with a headline like that, You expect someting. But today it was something totally different. Or something more "real" depending on how you put it.

I was having a coffee in my garden, watching one of my cats playing. She was tossing something around and after investigating it further, I saw what it was and had to safe the life of a "Lucanus cervus". We call it stag-bug in Germany. And this bug is probably the most rare bug in our latitudes. Also it is the biggest insect, as well. Up to 11 cm for the males, which is even bigger than a normal mouse. The last time I've seen such an animal was about 30 years ago and I was really glad I could show it to my kids and also make some nice pics. Especially I was happy that I saved that bug from my cat, as these insects are on the red list, meaning they are near extinction. So these shots are quite rare and valuable. Of course, I put the animal back into wilderness, a near place with a lot of what he needs, hoping he will find a "lady bug" and also hoping he will live a happy life ever after...

In fact this was the most exciting and best way of "being bugged".
All pics were made by myself with LUMIX G70 12-60 mm.

THX for reading and watching!

oh,,so amaging, its look really horrible,,, I think you really a lucky man for find this interesting one,

wawoow macro photography will change your view about that same thing they look so beautifully scary!

true. it is an amazing view. And through the lense it's even more impressive.

yap!i despired to get my camera and start capturing them!

Interesting heading,haha....it is our mindset now, we think that way.. The bug looks vicious... You cat would be surely upset.. Nice pics BTW..

That is true. My cat didn't look at me and didn't speak to me for half a day afterwards.

That's your kind nature that made him live happily otherwise someone else would have killed it. It is must to save such type of animals who are on red list.
Have a great day.

In its family, this bug is the first one to climb the ladder of fame. Look, it's being discussed here at the first ever blockchain based social media site. @pollux.one, You got luck that it did not bite you. It looks furious.

At least he is one of the bugs on the blockchain that is appreciated...
And you are true: This bug can really bite fiercely!

Well the heading was indeed interesting I was thinking that it might have been about Steemit or related to crypto ;)

Well surprise surprise ;)

It sure is a big one and have sometimes seen them don't really remember where .Well those two fangs looks like swords I suppose ;)

Nicely taken shots buddy !

Wow. It looks like if that guy really got hold of your finger you'd need stitches!

Cool deal, my friend. I'm glad the bug lived and you did too.

y. he lived and my fingers survived ;-)

Even with just five legs left after the cat-attack, he will get it done, i suppose.

Nice shots on a rare opportunity.
Like everything else in our lives, it depends on the angle of view...

Thx a lot. I really hope he will live to make more little deers.
Oh deer...

But I am not sure he lost the leg in the cat fight. It seemed quite "healed" already.

Maybe, he lost the leg during a fight for Mrs. Deer... :)
