ADSactly Poetry : Lucid Lyrics Designed to Expand Minds (Part 2)

Good day Steemians! Today I'll be sharing another original poem / lyrical verse with @adsactly readers.

Many of the verses I'll be sharing were written in collaboration with a friend of mine. I find that collaboration brings many benefits most of which revolve around having someone to bounce ideas off of and sort of be challenged to pick up where the other has left off.

I'd say that this piece was a bit dark but it revolves around a positive theme of persistance and being unwilling to accept defeat. I hope you enjoy it!

Checkmate

There have been times in life when we’ve all faced a checkmate...

Its never been too hard to relate...

So let me spit a bit of strategy to dissipate some fallacies..

Is it an abnormality to refuse to accept the brutality?

Put on my spectacles sift thru the sullied mantra of a sorry mainstream message desperate to get a glimpse of a new reality.

Saw the professor giving lectures while the light was shining bright both stringing their words together cleverly crafting their makeshift prophecies...

Saw the fate of human beings forced to compete in the 9-5 rat race or gain a competence in botany.

It'll take a couple choice steps to avoid the monotony and evade the new world lobotomy which could be but aint gotta be...

What do you think about the role of luck in life?

I'll play that scarface like Tony Montana I aint going out without a fight.

If I want it I get it and on a positive mission without a moment of regret aint that a breath of fresh air why would I point these things out if I didn’t care?

But always got a sec to examine one of lifes great lessons...

Flashback, a pistol to my head and a chance to be left for dead… wow… guess that’s what we get for second guessin our own intuition.

Neglected a rule of the game designed to keep a player consistent.

If it’s a lyrical competition I'll win the middle weight division with the strength and determination of a Mike Bisping.

Comparing winners to losers abstainers to boozers its your attitude that chooses just exactly what to do with your life.

Ill second Emerson in what he said that strong men don’t believe in luck they believe in cause and effect..

In regard to luck it was Jefferson that said ‘the harder I work the more that I have of it.’

And I’ll add to that… what you put in is what you get out of it…

Final Thoughts on 'Checkmate'

After revisiting this verse, I'm very pleased with the way it turned out!

I find that in long writing sessions that sometimes last weeks or even months it seems to do something to my mind, changing it in a way and really connecting me to a hidden source of inspiration. I'd say that there's definitely momentum involved, perhaps a better ability to connect to true expression.

The words in 'Checkmate' still ring as true as the day I wrote them. That is my definition of progress right there!

I really want to connect with readers on this topic and see what any of you may have to add to the ideas presented above.

Did this verse affect you in any way? If so, please do tell below in the comments section!

Yes you got it correct.
Life is like a chess, to win you have to make a move.
Queen always sacrifices for the king be it the life or be it the chess.
Chess is not always about winning but learning from each move and so is the life.

Your poetic-reflective text, which was written in the style of surrealist "automatic writing" (there was a practice of this type of writing known as "exquisite corpse", which we used a lot in literary workshops), presents the difficulty of a somewhat allogical interpretation. I believe that life is a combination of chance and necessity, or, to put it another way, luck and destiny. But the constant and lucid task can introduce changes in this course of possibilities and obligations. Life can be the game of "controlled chance". And not to take the revolver and desist from playing "Russian roulette". Anyway, in life you can always win or lose.Thank you for your text, @zentalk.

As @josemalavem used to say, this text of a disorderly character and with no sense at times has all the weakness that "exquisite corpses" have: texts made by more than one person. At times a thread follows, at times it breaks. Like life, there are moments when the plays are more evident and easier, in other moments not so much. The idea is to know that beyond continuing and reaching things, goals, prizes, plan the game, the challenge is to enjoy the game, never bet all the cards and always know that there is always another round. Thank you for sharing your poems, @zentalk

Life is a process towards one goal. We must be willing to continue to do step by step towards a dream. In achieving a goal, of course there are obstacles and challenges such as when playing chess is always faced with problems. Going forward, dodging, or bumping into challenges until we lose assets or make a profit is a natural thing. but we don't risk everything for just one small step so we don't die halfway
