and yet, here we are
300 plus 40 plus 7 plus 2
me and you
you and i
being rebellious by
taking breath after breath
slurping up oxygen
cut with lies
it's a dangerous time
to be alive
and in this skin
and yet, here we are
with the sun rising again
hidden behind the
cottony gray of the frozen sky
forming questions for the gods
in charge
