Pieces, broken
from a wounded yesterday.
Shards - still pierce the future

What interpretations can you draw for this haiku. I've placed a little bounty on the post as motivation. :P

A Haiku is a short Japanese Poem consisting of 3 lines.
Traditionally, Japanese haikus consist of 17 syllables, in three phrases of five, seven and five syllables respectively. Among contemporary poems Teikei (fixed form) haiku continue to use the 5-7-5 pattern while Jiyuritsu (free form) haiku do not.
This is a Jiyuritsu Haiku.

Haiku•ist

Sort:

i have always liked haiku for their simplicity. Its really the only poetry i can write lol.

Yeah....they are quite simple but still powerful and impactful @masterroshi.
Thanks for stopping by

i used to have pet fishes, gold fishes (Ryukins).. the aquarium got hit by a baseball from the neighborhood playground.

this haiku reminds me of that.. going home to find shards of broken glass and dead fishes.

Ouch.
Pretty sad

I just recently knew what a haiku is, and love to write, we songwriters must be I guess, but really did not know of them.
I think it means than once broken, even something mended carry scars, sharp edges, even fragments missing. And those scars we carry with us, they pierce through the future as reminder.

Yes indeed. It can never go back to normal once it is broken.
Glad you know about haikus now @yidneth. Thank you for stopping by

Curious thing is that I like their short intensity and I was already doing short poems of the sort for the sake of doing. But did not know of haikus themselves and rules of their metric syllabe count. So been reading a few also to get the gist of it.

U r really a pro on this

A broken heart... I guess

Yup, Something like that @fejiro.

@gamsam has set 0.500 SBD bounty on this post! logo_for-light-bg_1000.png # What is a bounty exactly

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Read more about how it works, even in different languages here.

Congratulations to the following winner(s) of the bounty!

  • @driftyy has earned 0.094 SBD. 0.094 SBD from the creator of the bounty and 0.000 SBD from the community!
