we are merchants in an alien land.
living like gods with immortality.
we are but components of sand.
and particles of dust.
standing on the edge of a grenade.
we see the mirage of reality.
wearing deaths beacon as we age in grace,
while running this ace's race,
yet living like amoebas and piranhas without resting places.

Many desires to touch;
the softness of the sun
and ride on the thunders in the cloud.
Whilst watching the carnivorous tide,
Swallow young fishers at river banks
with hook bare and empty,
When they're vomiting sea treasures like a smoking chimney

We are like chimera
drawn to materiel things
like pictures taken in mirror cameras
Kissing blinking things,
Including the painted metal shining like gold,
on our coffins,
life's a race tied on time,
but we run past the whistling of the umpire,
losing as the dusk of evening calls,
even when we win wearily,
death still knocks at midnight

We are tenants,
living rented life's
but Sipping immortal elixirs,
dipping breads in honeycombs,
watering plants in drizzling rainfall,
but starving thirsty soul of a drink
we are gods of greed with masters to heed,
but we ride life like a need to speed,
and end up with up turned wheels
dripping with haemoglobin

POETIC NOTES & ANALYSIS

Life sometimes is an intended irony, a complex duplicity, an ambiguously written terse note and of course a experience. The poem discuss the tendencies of man, his egotistic approach towards his environment, the poem points potrays the ostentatious habits of mankind, in the verse three he explains situation whereby people haven't had enough to clothe and feed themselves, meanwhile others have Just too they end up buying things that are of by no means useful to their existence.

The poem points out that man is wasteful, the greed and selfishness is what makes a few elite store riches that would even fill the ocean and still remain. He points out the fact that life is only for a short while but some people are storing riches that can last an eternity that they not even be present in. The poet see this as futility, the earth is desiged in a way that people will have their chances at life to exist and expire, so as to give the new generation time to exist as well. However man's attempt to gain the whole world is considered as vanity.

This entire poem is incredibly beautiful my dear @josedicus. But these lines are the most touching of all:

We are tenants, living rented life's

Magnificent! :)

Wow Abigail it's amazing to see you drop by, you know I feel man is living a rented life and only death is the the permanent accommodation, man sometimes plan too much for the future and forget he has a limited life span, without planning for the time of his demise when he will be no more, you get?
Life is rent, let's live it doing worthwhile things.

Thank you so much for coming through.

you get?
