Matchmaker
i wasn’t looking for love but
apparently
it was looking for me
when it leapt into my path
and made me stumble
and chased me when i crawled away
it followed me
subtly misdirecting me
had me floating in cyberspace
pining after a grainy photo
and a string of well-written code
i wasn’t looking for love but
apparently
it was growing on me
weaving delicate lines of suggestion
and bliss
in a late night phone call
after weeks of radio silence
and an empty inbox that taunted me
i wasn’t looking for love but
it found me
gifted me
a silver ring to end the suffering
