seeking

i search for inspiration
but it runs from me
and hides

it conceals
its tracks
its scent
its breath
as i strain
to uncover a single clue
any hint
of where it might be

it eludes me
with grace and skill
and forces me to concede
reluctant praise
escaping my lips
the words
well done
lingering in the air
