Warrior Path
on my knees
with sealed lips
head bowed
hands behind my back
neck bound for the blade
as punishment
for speaking out
forgetting my place
channeling the power
of ancestral pain
it’s in my skin
in my blood
hardwired into my DNA
and i won’t cry
or beg to be saved
from this fate
i won’t cry
there’s fire in my eyes
underneath the sun
evil crawls upon the ground
yet us warriors are always
the ones who get stuck down
where’s the justice we were
promised at the start?
where’s the golden reward
given to those with heart?
do not mourn my memory
once i’m good and gone
take my flag and cross and
carry my work on
and i won’t cry
there’s fire in my eyes
