My new Rub Recipe

in #recipes6 years ago

Picked up some ribs yesterday

They were at a really good price and they were really decent cuts. I decided though I wanted to put a rub on them before cooking them. I decided to look up a few recipes but couldn't really find anything that I like 100% so I took the one I thought I would like the most and adapted it so I could use it. I swear these are the best ribs I have ever had in my life. I am not 100% sure if it was the rub or the cooking method, but this recipe is staying in recipe book.

What you will need

3 Tablespoons of Brown Sugar

Rub on your choice of meat.

In this instance I made Country Style Pork Ribs. You can use any type of animal ribs if you do not eat pork.

Marinate the meat in the rub for a minute of 6 hours before cooking for best results.

Cook your favorite way. Some people prefer to grill them and that is how I thought we were cooking them, my husband suggested we try them out in the pressure cooker we picked up last month. These were the best ribs I have ever eaten. I am not sure if it was the method I cook them or the rub but either way. I doubt I will ever cook them any other way now. I cooked these for 45 minutes on the meat setting. Then once I released the pressure, I drained the small amount of water that was added for cooking and added BBQ sauce. I then cook that for 2 additional minutes using the vegetable setting. For those who have a pressure cooker and want to know what settings I used.

Do you make your own BBQ sauce too? I have a great recipe for a Sweet Baby Ray's copycat if you want it! It's nom.

That is what I used and accidently poured a little more than I normally like but it was good anyways. That recipe is gonna be another post.

Nice recipe, I will try it. GOD Bless you for feeding those kids!

My recipies when I feed the homeless in Tulsa, have to be simpler (in self defense) because we feed 300+, but the last time I cooked chicken and rice, I made 6 gallons of rice, 20 pounds of leg quarters (they like these the best) and a case of cream of chicken soup (don't tell anyone about the soup, it is my secrect ingredient, LOL). I pressure cook the chicken for two hours to make bone broth, and refrigerate it overnight. This lets me remove the fat, then I separate the meat from the bones and skin, and shread it. Put 3 gallons of rice in each roaster, and cover with half the chicken. Stir in half the bone broth, and 12 cans of soup in each, stir season, and heat. You have two 22 quart roasters of one of their favorite hot meals under the canopy!

BTW, one of the presssure cookers I use for this recipe, is the same model you have pictured, LOL! :)

It would be more fun if u come with ur recepie vedios :)

I do plan once my internet is up and running to do cooking videos. Right now I don't have the bandwidth to do videos it would eat too much data. Hopefully by the end of the month the cable company gets their work done. I had no clue it would take so long to turn on our internet. I would have started the process had I known when we started building our house. But currently 10 gb a month isn't a lot.
