STREET SCORE...Another Excellent Find!

in #recycling6 years ago (edited)

A little dumpster diving on the way to work never hurt anyone!

Just this weekend as we were building a shed platform with palettes, Jessi-K (wifey) was talking about our need for a little red waggon type thing... That is what we need to go with Our New Mension.

Well honey... there it is! Just found this one on the side of the street, in a pile of junk waiting to be thrown away into the nearest landfill!

One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure!

I'm not a 100% sure that is how the saying goes, but it is close enough to know what I mean here. This ground score was definitely the universe telling us something... Common, one minute we talk about needing a waggon and the next we find one sitting there waiting to be used by us!!!

Here it is again, without a bunch of words in front of it, so you can see it's beauty:

I just love it when things aligne perfectly and you can actually see it happening! Thank you for throwing it away... And no worries, this little red waggon will have a good life in No Man's Land, our little multi-family homestead with anarchist tendencies!.

Just don't know what people are thinking of, throwing away perfectly usable things. At least they could have stuck it on internet as a feeebie

America has lots of different forms of abundance! In our apartment we have a very nice dishwasher we found on the streets a couple years ago... looks brand new too!

Nice find! That little wagon can definitely be handy.

Yep, there has already been a few times we wished we had one. And it's pretty sturdy too!

Thanks

Great find, my friend. I make a living Scavenging and know exactly what you mean. 80% of what I own, including power tools are scavenged.

Oh that's right, I forgot you did tgat! We talked about it before. I only bought my first piece of furniture a few years ago... Most NYC apartments are full of salvaged furniture from the streets. You should see what people throw out here. I found a working 2 year old stainless steel. dishwasher last year! Exactly what we needed, an 18 inch wide one (for small apartments) it's worth brand new about $700 i couldn't believe it!

Yes, people think because it's in the trash, it's broken. When in fact, we tend to upgrade these days before our items break.

I have found most items in the garbage in fact work or take very simple repairs to get them in working order.

Yeah very true. A little tinkering and these things can be like new sometimes! The dishwasher, just a fitting I had to put on a copper hose!

Haha I am getting into dumpster diving myself. Completely missing out on spring cleaning though. I love being able to turn our hobbies into crypto by talking about it amirite?! Have a coconut day senor! ;)

Lol, yes fot sure making crypto talking about our hobbies is pretty amazing!!! Be careful in those dumpsters my friend, they can hide some aweful things at times!

Thanks for the tip lol. It is trash after all but I can't say I've done much of it yet.

Do you guys have relycling centers? They arw safer I think than dumsters

Next week I will do a post on what we found in there... with Spring Cleaning people in north america throw away so many treasures!
