Well I believe that we can't ever have enough options, features, gimmicks in Steem UIs. As long as providing the information always happens by choice / voluntary and one can stay anonymous if they want, I can't find anything negative about it.

What we need more than anything else is a good working search function. For instance, it'd be great to have the option to search for people in your area. Again: nobody should be forced to leave the information in their profiles, but those who do might profit from it.
