God is Good Scripture | Reject the False Gods in Your Life
The most profound God is good scripture is the 4 Gospels because they are the expression of God's perfect love for us that manifested itself in God providing us His greatest gift, Jesus Christ.
Are you rejecting God's greatest gift out of a reverence for your own thoughts, knowledge and talents? Kind of going it alone.
I can tell you for sure I've been there and done that and it's a very empty path of worshiping a kind of modern day false gods - gods that tell you, you can make it on your own without God.
God's immense goodness cannot be expressed in a single article, but when you finally choose to reject the false gods in your life and embrace the one true God of Scripture, your life will profoundly change and it will come into focus that you don't have to go it alone.
God doesn't ask much of us, except a daily dedication to seek Him through prayer, repentance and study of the Word of God, yet He provides so much in return.
God's goodness provides total security for our future as we are saved by the grace of Jesus, but I am not only talking about your eternal future in heaven (very important itself), I am also talking about your future life right here on earth.
When you rely on God instead of trying to go it alone you will find in time that God will solve all your issues and make your cup to runneth over.
Let us see what happened with the ancient Israelites when they turned away from God in this scripture from Judges...
Turning Away From God is An Empty Path
Judges 10:6-12
6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim, and Ashtoreth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the Lord, and served not him.
7 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.
8 And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
9 Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.
10 And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.
11 And the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?
12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.
Judges 10 is another chapter in a recurring story in the lives of the people of Israel.
The people had seen the hand of God deliver and protect them time after time, yet they seemed to quickly forget His goodness and might and turned away from Him to a number of false "gods."
You Don't Have to Go It Alone Apart From God
It's easy to turn up our noses at the Israelites for their lack of faithfulness to God.
But we modern-day Christians are faced with - and, far too often, fall for - the same kinds of temptations the people of Israel faced in the days of the Judges.
We may not turn to and worship another god in the most literal sense.
And we don't completely abandon the true and living God.
But we're still prone to turning to other "gods" - such as our own talents and abilities, our own knowledge, or our own strength - in order to find security God Himself wants to provide us.
Pray and ask God to guide your life in a way that leads to Him, so you will learn that you are not alone and God will provide for you in the most perfect way that is just right for you.
God truly wants you to rely on Him to solve your life's most pressing problems and He will in His own perfect timing make your cup runneth over.
Your Future is Secure in the Arms of God
There is no better or more secure place for a believer to live than under the protective hand of the heavenly Father.
Remind yourself daily of all that God has done for you in the past, and know that He is still bigger than any problem or
temptation you may face.
The ultimate security you want is to be a part of God's great family in heaven by the grace of Jesus and the blood of Jesus that clears you of God's judgment for any evil you have done.
But God is also very much interested in being involved in your life on earth and helping you through all your hardships and blessing you when the timing is right.
Give God the glory, thank Him for His greatest gift, Jesus Christ and all your blessings in prayer.
Be repentant for any evil deeds of your past or present and you will be warmly accepted into God's arms where you never have to go it alone again.
God is Good Scripture
The sum of God's perfect goodness is in the realization that He provided His Son, Jesus Christ to erase the scourge of sin against mankind - embrace Jesus and you will know God's goodness.
John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
ONLY God is Good
"And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:17)
Not even Jesus wanted to be called good.
You must come to realize that we are all wretched sinners, so the next time you think of yourself as a 'good person,' think again, there is probably something you need to repent for even if it is just your pride in thinking of yourself as good.
I will tell you this about Scripture, it is all good because it is the Word of God.
Psalm 147:1-11
1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
2 The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

The false god that most people worship is themselves because there's nothing they love like themselves. They are their own god so that any offense against them is infinitely bad and can never be forgiven.
Some people sacrifice their families or their unborn children on the figurative altar to themselves. Nothing is as important as their own comfort or their career or what they decide is necessary for their own happiness.
Yes @barncat, there was a time in my life when my career and my pride in it drove me, but Jesus grabbed a hold of me and changed all that. We should pray that those who live unto themselves will be called by Jesus to change their ways.
Excellent publication brother, only to God we must adore. I always ask God to direct my steps, I do not want to do anything that is beyond his will. Without him we are nothing, and if we look for other gods, the graces of God will leave us and his wrath will consume us...
