Persistent downvoting... Why?

About a half an hour ago the app Steemify notified me about a user downvoting my latest post with 100 % power. By the way, very usefull app, Steemify, made by @exyle, it gives you a notification about all the activity on your account.
Ok, now, I checked who downvoted me, so I could see why this person downvoted me. Because, it was really no controversial post, so a downvote surprised me. But hé, anyone is free to do what he or she wants to do.
So, I go to the site, steemd.com to check this user out, and what do I find there... All 100 % downvotes, no upvote, not even a 0.01 % upvote. Every post this person encounters gets a 100 % downvote. Not that this effects a lot, because this person only has 15 SP and was at 10 % of his voting power.
Very strange behaviour
Do I have a problem with this? No, absolutely not, but it intrigues me. This profile is now 34 days old. So, one would think they are already a bit educated about how the Steem blockchain and ecosystem work. If these downvotes are sincere, that must be one pretty frustrated person. If it is just out of ignorance, then it is a pitty. Because this person has let go of lots of curation rewards in the last 34 days. "Lots" of curation is maybe a little overrated, but put in perspective to the SP of the person. They could have doubled their account in that period.
What do I recommend?
Educate yourself the first months of your Steem journey. Education is worth money here. Well, education is worth a lot in every ecosystem. Education is key. Look at the Steemit School posts by @dobartim, and there are plenty more, but don't just downvote in the wild. That's just killing your own curation.

I see people often misusing the downvote features. This isn't Reddit where if someone posts something positive about trump and you dont like trump you downvote. Technically that's not how reddit is supposed to work either though it is.
My understanding of the downvote is it's meant to flag spam, people promoting scams, low quality content, its not meant to use on things you disagree with and its not meant to be used to downvote topics you dont find interesting. If I don't like snakes and someone posts about caring for snakes, just because I don't like that topic doesn't mean their content isn't quality.
I see many people misusing this downvote feature. I'm gonna give you a couple 100% upvotes to level things out.
well, you really don't need to do that! I just wanted to point out to some people how this ecosystem works. It seems that a lot of the users still don't have a clue! But still, you're very welcome for your comment and your upvotes!

It's probably not his main account, he just did a script and started downvoting random people. Some people just like to be assholes like that guy...

lol! I don't think I have ever downvoted any post. Not even those spammy and hateful ones as I don't really see much point. If you don't like something, it is pretty easy to move on here on Steemit :)
I had a visitor like this also on one of my posts. When I checked him with steemd.com the same thing. He was a few days old and all that he did was to dovnvote people left and right. That's one side effect of decentralization and giving power in the hands of the people. I hope that Steem will do something about this situations with abuse flagging or change the way flags affect the user getting them.
