It truly is the responsible and sensible thing to do. We all instinctively know our set point and inner dimensions, at least enough to know we are not our best. It is intuitive that one would stop, breathe reflect and then continue.

Well said. Even after so many experiences I am occasionally dazzled at how most people these days don't even find it necessary to look inwards, leading to paradoxical situations.
A lot, I suspect do not know how to, or are too afraid of what they would find, and may not be ready for it.
These are life skills that need to be taught at school.
