RE: My Top 7 Most Memorable Betting Wins (Part 1)

in #sports6 years ago

I have very few bets I remember because I'm more a slowly grinding out profit type player avoiding big gambles.

Only two situations come to my mind from my entire gambling career.

Party Poker Step Sit&Go 500$
Back in my very early micro stakes days when I played poker there were step sit&go's on party poker where you were able to reach the next step when finishing top 3. It started with 1$ buy-in and ended with a 500$ buy-in sit&go in the last step. I reached that final stage in a time where my bankroll was really hurting and 500$ was huge to me. I even send a mail asking if I could get money since I needed it for my bankroll and did not want to gamble. Off course they did not allow it and I was forced to play the sit&go ending 3th getting a 500$ payout which really saved me.

Canbet 700€ bet lost
I don't know what bet it was exactly but it was long ago and in a time I was still naive having reasons to believe a match was fixed so I bet way more than I should on it. Off course it lost teaching me a good lesson which I never forgot.

Really I am a grinder too. Though sometimes the opportunity is only there for a larger stake - exactly like your party poker example. Also sometimes when I play futures markets it can be a case of letting the profits run and just hedging the potential loss. Those futures plays can lead to big wins without necessarily being big gambles and that's why there are a few futures plays in my top 7.

You seem to be very good at the Belgian soccer so I am a bit surprised you aren't playing the futures market there?

I have to do with the asian bookmakers who don't really offer futures. Betfair is restricted here in Belgium (I have limited access to it on my broker account) and all of the 1x2 bookmakers limited me over the years.

This makes me stick to sides, totals and corners pretty much as I will always be able to get low juice prices on those and good limits without personal restrictions. It is one of the reasons I'm looking so closely at those blokchain projects, they can be a real game changer with the odds they are going to be able to offer.

Nice. It sounds like you need the markets to open up a bit more and once they do there will be a few other options for you to apply your edge. It would be exciting to have that upside and I think you could do really well.
