RE: I am worried about this...please, help me to understand...

... you would just log in to any of the dozens (hundreds?) of different front ends for the Steem blockchain to access your wallet and account, if steemit.com blocked you. It is almost 100% certain that this was not something Steemit.com did on their own. It is almost 100% certain they were served with a legal order to remove the content from their website, considering it is absolutely illegal to knowingly host hacked confidential materials like this.

You mentioned child porn here in the comments - that is actually one of the really worrying things about Steem blockchain, is that if child porn was uploaded in some format that could be stored on the blockchain (note that images are not actually stored on the blockchain, they are hosted per usual as image files are usually hosted on a server, and all that is recorded in the blockchain is a link to the URL of the image in the image hosting service), e.g. if the actual binary content of a bitmap was loaded as text into a post - if something like this happened, there is currently no way to actually remove it from the blockchain. You could prevent the child porn from appearing on any particular front end for the steem blockchain, but the child porn itself would still be stored in the blockchain and every witness running a witness server would still be legally liable for running a server that has child porn in it (depending I suppose on the laws of the actual physical place that the witness server is located).
