Time to Load Up

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

If you like this place as a hobby, spend more than an average a handful of hours of here a week fairly consistently, it may be a good time to start monetizing your screw around time. I am not here to tell you what to do, but I know what I had to do, buy cheap steem/sbd, without question. Do what's best for your situation, just don't be regretful to how much you did or didn't take a gamble on here. For me the formula was "How much this year would I take into a casino and walk away with losing 100% of it, having no lifestyle change whatsoever, and have no regrets for taking the shot.

Pass your thoughts on to me, I would be curious of what they are at this time...

I like that you are "on the record"... That is good as it will be something that might make you the next Haejin! You never know, he got his fortune by forecasting and then lots of people love him and now upvote every post! That you be you one day, so keep the prognostication coming! ;)

I'm loving your enthusiasm here Crypt... I hope that you get enough socked away for when it does go up... That is the biggest key here, its not only buying low, but also having the balls to fade it lower. Too many people cut and run... I think in your case you will be here until it hits $100 or you will be the last guy to turn the lights out!

Either way, I'll be right next to ya!

Notice how little volume it takes to cause the market dump. They drive the price down with very little capital and the volume explodes on the way back up. They accumulate so much at such a low price and 10x the volume.

Ex: They accumulate 100k ETH 1 week ago at $465 which drove the price up to $523. They dump 35k ETH driving price from ~$520 to $489 over the past 4 hours. They let the panic cause it to dump the rest of the way. Rinse and repeat.

They're shaking us out and accumulating as much as possible. They know as well as we do that the market is going to explode. The problem is that most of us are short sighted. They have the discipline for the long term goals

Thanks @cryptkeeper17 I'm convinced time to turn some of those altcoins that are collecting dust into Steempower!

Best of luck! Unfortunately with BTC down as much as it has been lately all the coins are affected by its gravity. I don't own any other coins, I probably should, but I spend hours a week here on steemit, I can capitalize on my screw around time on here, so why would I invest in anything else, except to speculate, cash in, and strengthen my position here until I am convince there is a better place to go down the road. Thanks for the comment, best of luck should you pull the trigger on any of your other cryptos!

Hey Crypt, this is so true. It better to be a master of one thing and do well, than try to be a master of many and fail. I think you are right to focus here on what you can see, especially since you have done a good job of realizing the positives and the negatives. Stick with it brother and you will see the rewards down the road ;)

Since the STEEM price has dropped a lot, I've been considering trading some of my SBD for STEEM to power up. I wonder whether I should wait a bit more or not, whether the price will drop some more or not... a $0.1 change in price makes a big difference to those who don't have much.

If you use the bid bots, or voting services that take SBDs you may actually be wise to convert your steem to SBDs. A while back, especially when I first started in December of last year, SBDs were very highly coveted because it was a boom time, the price of steem/sbds were skyrocketing, and everyone wanted sbds because there were bots everywhere and there was easy money to be had. Now the bots are few, and they are very competitive and not nearly as buyer friendly, that in no coincidence has driven the SBD value down, for crying out loud they are giving out steem again in place of some of your SBD payout to slow the inflation of SBDs. When this all straightens out, it's my opinion that the sbd will be equal to much greater than steem, and then you will have even more options to make any conversions at a much better rate than a 30% deficit from SBD to steem. That is my opinion of course, you should always do what you feel is best for you in your situation at the time.

Oh, I didn't know the bots had influenced the SBD price like that. When I arrived on Steemit a few months ago, STEEM was a bit lower than SBD (I remember I had bought STEEM at $0.99 SBD from the market to pay my Qurator membership subscription). After that, I haven't seen STEEM prices below SBD prices anymore. I read somewhere that the witnesses may be using their price feed to pull SBD down and closer to its intended value of $1 USD. If SBD were to stay at $1 as intended and STEEM were to skyrocket, it'd be way harder for us to get SP. I wish your opinion would turn out to be right and SBD would rise above STEEM again... or at least that STEEM and SBD prices would remain close to each other. Well, I guess I'll wait some more and see what happens.

I think your headline says it all...Time to load up👍 If you are serious about Steemit, this could be a good time to buy some more STEEM, and power up...🙂

Yep, usually my headlines suck, this one seems simple and to the point, for once. Thanks for the comment, best of luck to what you are doing here on the platform, stop back anytime!

Your headline hit bullseye🙂

A lot of people are bailing. Mining rigs for sale cheap, servers for sale cheap, crypto for sale cheap. I'm okay with this.

My actual fiat investment is super down, but my slice of the pie is growing a lot. Unbelievers and weak hands are leaving. I'm spending and building.

Resteemed.

Nice I am glad to hear you are keeping the faith. I am not at all polyanna or fanboy when it comes to cryptos right now, I know there is some shaken confidence, but the story itself really has not changed overly that much in the recent past to validate this much of a swing, of course any negative info with BTC makes things volatile in itself, and the further steem/sbds fall backward the MUCH better for those of us that wish to accumulate. Best of luck with your plans, I get excited on drops, I get amused on spikes, but don't dwell on neither for long because they all come in cycles. Thanks for the comment and the resteem, enjoy your weekend!

Hey, thanks for the vote!

You're right about the amusement. December was absolutely awesome.

Is @authors.league something you delegate to? I've been wondering about delegating a bit to see how much I can earn... Not that I have a whole lot, but I want to learn about it.

No I have not, I just like that they may be the last uncapped comment bot that does exactly what they say they are going to do. At the moment I delegate to no bots.

Are you trying to imply that these bot owners don't care about their customers? I mean they are generous enough to give their users only a 10% loss in a market that is trading already 10% lower (so 20% negative)... Even in the case where you can be lucky enough to reach their max of 10% gain, you will still just breakeven. But you do get to advertize :P

Bhahaha unleash, capitalism for the vote buyer, I don't know what the hell you call this what the bot owners are doing right now? Suicide cult facism?
