Going Hunting
I don't know , but maybe I think a little differently when it comes to earning and opportunities on here. I see this as a game and it is about playing smart and seeing where the next buck or dollar comes from.
I have looked at curation differently these days ever since the last hard fork which made it more profitable to vote and vote smarter. I support the people I follow but always keep a spare vote or two on users that provide an opportunity.
I am not talking about the usual ones who bid bot to kingdom come, but the ones under the radar. There are plenty of them and I see it as the golden egg. I understand when people say they are abusing the reward pool, but what about you abusing their stupidity and pick pocketing what you can at the same time.
I see it as taking back as you are actually taking away from the bid bots by doing this. If I throw a 5 cent vote at something and earn 1 SP in curation then that is 1 SP to the good guys and 1 SP less to the bots.This is how I see it anyway as everyone around me benefits the bigger I get.
Some people may say that this is not the way you should play the game and maybe a down vote would be a better option. I think if more users thought in this way the bid bots would be less profitable as the curation earned would be way less for the vote sellers that support them. We all know the bots hit after 15 minutes which to be honest is a crappy time for curation. It is worse if a few of us have hit the post with a correct timed vote cutting the curation even more.
I thought today I would throw these thoughts out there as maybe it is something others haven't thought along these angles before.I just see this as another way of fighting back.
Just out of curiosity, how much have you been earning of autovoting my posts? I assume it's not been terrible. I can say I've been getting pretty good returns from voting on your posts. So much, that I can increase my voting percentage :P
You write great posts, so I don't mind blindly voting all of them at 100%.
Hey @daan. Thank you for those kind words. I don't know really, but they haven't been that bad. I support the author and the post as a combo and I enjoy what you write about. Just checked the returns lol which aren't great at about an average of 30 percent. Every now and then though one post makes up for all the others so it is about supporting the article and author together. Your posts are always well written and show a different perspective or show something new.
Thank you as well, the thing I like most about your posts is that they're usually pretty straight to the point. I generally love to read something in less than 5 minutes and be able to immediately understand what it's all about. You're definitely one of the few authors on Steem who manages to do that just right. Keep doing what you're doing, I'd say ;)
Thank you. I think it is because I am writing like I am talking and am always up front with everything I do. I can't change anyway as that is just me and no different outside of here. I also don't have time to try and decipher a post and like something straight forward.
