Playing A Big Role
I was looking at the Minnow Power Up League today hosted by @abh12345 and @paulag and it has become a cornerstone for many members on their way to becoming a Dolphin. I have been on the league for 33 weeks already and with a little bit to do before I can graduate.
Like many of us on the league and there are 159 members currently, we look forward to Thurdsays to see how well everyone else has done. It is not a competition, but it is good to compare your score against others and is a kind of reassurance that you are doing things right.
I am surprised there aren't more users using this opportunity to engage with others who have the same mindset as you. Everyone on this league is thinking of getting to 5000 SP and beyond and knows what is required to get there. Some power up and don't stay too long but others have been on here even longer than I have and that takes commitment.
We tend to forget how long it actually takes to grow as days turn into weeks and then turn into months quite quickly on here. I think it is because we are so busy that we get wrapped up in what is going on we tend to forget how time flies. A year on Steem doesn't actually feel like a year as you are just having fun.
I think that is the most important thing to take away from this is that this is a game that has rewards and not to take it too seriously. We are all here to earn and we may as well be social whilst we do this and the more social you become the more you will earn. I don't mean that you go and spend 6 hours in Discord everyday as that would be madness as you won't grow very quickly doing that.
If you aren't part of the league then look up @steemcommunity and their posts to join by just asking by replying on their Minnow League post saying you would like to join.
I think it's great that you are putting the word out there. I am willing to bet that a lot of people simply don't know about it, so posts like yours are awesome. 159 people is still a lot of people that can support each other and work together. I'm proud to be a new member of the Minnow League! Yes, I agree wholeheartedly, it's important to keep it fun!

I think there are loads that have no idea about the leagues and the more that are involved the better for everyone here. If we can get another few hundred dolphins it would make a difference.
Both are very useful tools, I know some see it as a competition especially in the Engagement League, but they are really about making use of a free easy and convenient tool. I think I am approaching my week 38 in the Minnow League. I just made it to level 2. many would look and see that as pretty slow progress, I look and see steady progress.
I won a few games, got a few nice curies, and sold a lot of steem monster cards, but by far the most progress has come from just trying to keep a steady rhythm that will not lead me to burn-out or crash-and-burn.
A bit slow but steady, and the leagues help me with tracking that progress. I have no clue how much steem power I had 4 months ago, but I know where to go and look it up.
Slow and steady wins the race and you are doing just fine. The Curie votes are a great bonus and just give you a boost. You will make it sooner than you think as it does start to speed up.

That is why I said it and then they say this place is unfair and they can't grow. It is all about striking a balance and spending more time engaging on posts than chatting.

You guys are welcome as you do a fantastic job of keeping everyone going. Not everyone has the drive and you keep them focused with the leagues you run.
