RE: Let's Make 250 New Minnows in a Month

in #steem5 years ago

Awesome idea to help others to help Steemit grow. My only question is why would you support someone in this effort if they haven't been active in more than a month? I am sure there are others that are active that could be substituted? If the signed up then forget I even said anything.

We are not supporting inactive users. I'm quoting a part of the post written by steevc for you to see how this works:

Our first move was to contact some Steemians who are pretty close to becoming minnows. @paulag produced some lists for us to work from. Some of mine had just powered up and one added 28k Steem! A few of the others had been inactive for a month or two, so I left comments in case they come back.

What we are asking people to do is to write a post committing to powering up to get to minnow and use the tag #TenKMinnows. They need to show they are serious about this. We would rather they do not use 'bid bots' as this may lose them some support. Things they can do include:

Make their posts 100% Steem Power.
Power up any liquid Steem and Steem Dollars you have. This will get some people to minnow straight away.
Do not power down.
Make use of votes from Steem dapp projects such as @Actifit, @Busy, @eSteemapp, @Partiko, @Share2Steem, @Steempress, @SteemMonsters (you can ask for votes in their Discord).
Enter contests that can win you Steem.
@paulag has created a course about Steem. Take the course and you could get 50 SP of delegation.
Leave good comments that may earn you votes and may gain you followers.
Keep posting. You need to have at least one active post that people can vote on, but go for quality rather than quantity. Add value to the Steem platform. source

We are contacting inactive users as well because you never know, they might come back, but if they don't post, they won't get support.

I've seen @paulag's video and request. I'm part of the Redfish League. It's great that she gave you a list to look from. I was just perusing through the list and saw a few that have not posted in about a month is all. I know that doesn't mean they are definitely inactive, that they are probably just commenting.

It was just a question and nothing meant by it, I was curious. I am not one to assume things.
I know I am nowhere near being a minnow. I should have phrased it as how were these people chosen? Maybe that wouldn't have sounded accusatory.

No worries, I understand that the matter can be confusing. We need to stay in contact with inactive users as well. Yesterday I left a message to someone who's last post was two weeks ago and she came back and thanked me for messaging and said she's going to be active.
We need to keep this community together, the more the merrier, the better for us, right?
And no worries, you'll grow and you're going to have your chance to be helped 🙂 There are always opportunities.

That is awesome. For the first in the 15 months I have been on Steemit, I'm not worried. You're right there is always opportunity, you just have to keep yourself open to them.
