Introducing MINNOW MENTOR - A new FREE initiative to help minnows earn more

Are you a minnow who is finding it challenging to get your hard work recognised (and more importantly earning through upvotes)? Then this post is just for you!

In every area of business, mentors and coaches are a great idea. It's always useful having someone coming in from the outside to offer their advice and support to get you through.

I'm a member of the #promo-uk team, and we actively go out onto the streets and encourage new people to join Steemit. We area also putting together other initiatives, including an interest free Steem loaning system to help people start their own local promotional group, as well as arranging meet-ups, video conferences and more.

But every day I see minnows on here clearly frustrated that something they have spent a great deal of time and energy on has passed everyone by, and if they're lucky they've made anything at all on their posts.

nothing made.jpg
fed up of seeing this at the bottom of your posts?

One thing about the Steemit community is that there are loads of people on here who want to help you out. People like my friend @stephenkendal, the de-facto batman of the #promo-uk team, and Matt @starkerz, another seriously interesting Steemian, and of course great guys like @jerrybanfield, @dollarvigilante and others who make awesome videos about Steemit, and many others who just want to help everyone out and give great information.

BUT SOMETHING IS MISSING

One thing that is missing is a mentoring programme though, so I am announcing one right now. I have spent a lot of time helping newbie minnows out, and critiquing their work, and giving them positive feedback and support. I often see poorly formatted posts, or ones which just aren't going to catch anyones attention. People who have followed my advice tend to start to see their payouts improving, and they tend to start enjoying the experience much more too (as well as learning some really interesting stuff).

There's lots to Steemit. It's a massive ecosystem. And it takes time to learn. Let MINNOW MENTOR assist you in learning.

HOW MUCH IS IT

And what do I expect for doing this? Absolutely NOTHING. I'm not asking you to send me Steem or SBD or anything else. I just believe that at this point in the development of Steemit there are mutual benefits to ensuring that minnows become dolphins (and hopefully whales) and even the newbies have a chance of making it here.

LOADS OF IDEAS FOR GROWING MINNOWS

When I've determined that there is a desire amongst minnows for support, then I will be announcing some exciting projects which will help all my minnows grow. These are still being worked on, so not going to say too much for now.

WANT TO BE MENTORED?

If you think you'd like to be mentored, please leave a comment below. It would help others if you could also Resteem this article, as there will be others out there who would probably want to be part of this community too. The more we get, the quicker we can get to the more advanced stuff which is in place now.

COULD YOU BE A MENTOR TOO?

I am part of a great team with #promo-uk and I'm sure there will be some of those guys who would readily give some of their time. I cannot promise that I can support everyone, because if hundreds of people want me to mentor them, then I may not have any time to do anything else, but a great team of knowledgable mentors can certainly do that. If you think that you have something to give too, please also let me know.

Look out for @minnowmentor, coming soon!

With lots of interesting advice, articles, videos, tutorials and support from people who've been exactly where you have been and know what it feels like. It's coming, and it's going to make a HUGE difference to people who get involved with it.

Please do spread it around your followers, let them know. We are all here to have fun, succeed and grow, and one of the great things about this platform is that altruism works for everyone. We all benefit.

Remember, if you want to participate in any way, leave a comment below, and ideally resteem this so others can see it too. Before you know it we will have a great minnow mentor programme running! <.h3>

Hey @anarcotech thanks for starting something like this. I see all these "we help minnows" projects, but they all just want you to send them crypto.

I would LOVE to be a part of this in any way I can, hopefully to become a mentor eventually myself.

I write and post only original articles and yes I also feel frustrated that it seems I don't get much love, but I see people just reposting others crap and get tons of votes.

Hi @cryptostache. Thats great if you can help. Please do join me in the discord channel. https://discord.gg/KHnZNf9. Also see the top of this post for the link to the latest information about it.

Hi @Cryptostache.
So had a look at your blog, and here's a few thoughts. First what I love. You've got a nice cover pic, a cool avatar, and an interesting bit of peacocking...the stache. You seem to be blogging pretty regularly, normally once a day give or take, and you're stuff is original. I do like when you have related your bitconnect journey, but I'd like to know more....make it even more regular. @trevonjb does his coin counts. Maybe something similar?

You've ovbiously put some investment into your SP, and this is exactly the right thing to do. Perhaps even consider using @minnowbooster to have a temporary power up too.

So, I think the stretch Im going to give is this. Your ability to peacock your stache is underused. I had to scroll right back to the beginning of your blog to see it. If you notice the people who are doing really well on Steemit, we know what they look like. Their image is part of their brand. The stache is so cool (and I really think it's cool) that I would really make this part of your brand too, not just the name. Let us see the stachaction!

Hey @anarcotech, you make some good points here!

Originally I did want to also do the bitconnect thing every day but I felt like it might get a bit stale so i decided to update on it 1 time a week and post screen shots of what I did that week. You think every day update on this is not too much?

I have not used any of those services yet, but yes I did invest a bit in SP. May do some more in the future depending.

Hahah, yes I try to flaunt the stache as much as I can! I am eventually going to get into doing videos here so I think that will help with the stache visibility. Any suggestions you have beyond that to get it out there more?

thanks for checking out my stuff!

I think give the stache a real personality. @trevonjb completely peacocks himself with his brilliant caricatures and larger than life personality. He's a great example of someone who puts it out there on Steemit. Make the stache the centrepiece for what you say.

If you think you've got positive stuff to offer the community about anything, whether bitconnect or whatever, post it. Someone may find it useful. Yes, don't just post for the sake of it, make your posts interesting and worthwhile. But I'd be interested in following a bitconnect journey as it might be something I'd like to do myself....so showing me how I might feel everyday could be very useful to me.

Thanks for the encouragement! I will take this advice and run with it!

Good man. Thats the spirit.

Pass me any tips you have, I'll store them away in my giant mustache for later use!

@anarcotech
this is a wonderful concept... people like you use innovation to turn things around for the community... this concept has my support... thanks for sharing this

welcome dear and find time to check my blog posts

welcome dear... find time to check my latest blog posts
thanks

@kenhudoy. I'm curious. You seem to be unbelievably multi-lingual. Posts in korean, english, spanish, and possibly you do German as well????

Your stories are great, especially love the one about the punk who saves the little boy, and ends up years later in front of the little boy who is now the Judge. Brilliant, got me suckered right in. You clearly have some big followers too. @sweetsssj commenting and upvoting you, that's great!

What I find curious is that you resteem a lot, comment like there's no tomorrow, but don't post tons. Of the 5000+ posts you've made, actually only a handful of them are actually posts you have made directly. You've got so many followers, and commented so much, I cant quite work you out. You are an enigma.

I think, like I've said to plenty of others on here that I would like to see who you are. There is no image of you that I can find. Please, satisfy my curiosity.

The stretch for me....let's see who's behind the mask! I hope that's not too presumptious.

thanks and am elated by your kind remarks... however..as you surmised... enigmas do not get seeing until right time... seems you arin Uk as am aout reading and commenting on your posts and will surely meet you in person maybe in Huddersfield...
however for now lets enjoy like you doing the anonymity of steemit... love your symbol ...what does that mean...
I belief in the power of small things... the power of that lone voice...that triggers a ripple in the waters causing waves which in turn can cause a tsunami... i beleif in togetherness.... i belief in you...meaning i belief in steemit and wanna work my way to top... how do i start...by making my bed every morning... dont ask me why if you have not red my latest post and listened to my mentor who is a ormer Navy SEAL... Why do i comment much and post less... well ask Steemit...joined 7 weeks ago and posts are hadly seen by 1% of your followers but all can read and comment to my response and as such, i get to engage with those i love their content as such they may find time also to reach my posts... will increase posting from this week...say 3 weekly and if things improves can post daily.... i got a lot in my tinny winny head to give out which can tickle your fancy...as such keep following and supporting...;)
thanks dear...am also following you
And hey....asper your request... soon dear... very soon...
Finally .... Ti panimaesh parusky? ( Do you understand Russian?)

Not a word. Does it involve vodka?

Nope...I speak Russian language with love...

yes, i am very interested in the mentoring program and also new here.
thanks for coming up with this. am following your right away.

That's great. Ok, watch out for the next Minnow Mentor posts.

@solomonsojay
good one dear... key in to the mentor program and get to know all asap...nice comment and welcome to steemit

I just started a couple of days ago, so I would really like to participate!

Hello @megshealthyworld, that's great news, I will be happy to help.

I noticed that you only have one follower so far. You've resteemed quite a few posts, and you've curated on a few too. I think perhaps a great starting point for you is to know what it is you are interested in with Steemit. From seeing your two posts, which of course isn't a right lot to be getting a good overall picture, it appears that you are interested in health writing, but of course there will be other things too. You haven't done an introduction post yet. This is fine, and I'd be tempted to hang on until you know what you are going to talk about. There is also a bit of an etiquette for making intro posts, which you may or may not know about. In a few days time I will be releasing a video on this very topic, which should help you get some followers and interest. Two days is not much, and theres plenty of time, so hang fire and lets see how well you get on!

No, I wasn't aware of the intro post etiquette, so I will wait for the video and go from there! Thank you!

Hi, I am always open to any suggestions, critiques, and advice you might have to make my posts more visible. I have done ok with followers but my posts don't seem to be doing good. Thanks so much for this service! Very helpful

Hi @lindabasilick, good to hear that. Please do follow the link here to find out more about where we are at with it: https://steemit.com/steemit/@anarcotech/minnow-mentor-free-support-service-to-help-minnows-grow

Thank you. I am watching this with great interest.

Here goes nothing. I would like to be mentored.

While I enjoy what I already have in here, especially the people I have met, I would like to see if I could get better at this. Plus I can bring some bread to a meetup in London :)

Ok, @breadcentric. consider yourself mentored. I will be looking at your posts and will be commenting on them.

Would love to try your bread. Ok, lots to talk about with you. You have some interesting things you are blogging about. Minecraft Mods, food and a bit of colour creativity. Not bad for someone so new. Two major things missing. Firstly you really need an avatar. I think not having one really puts people off wanting to upvote you. Secondly, you haven't done an introductory post yet. Now, again as I said to @megshealthyworld above, I'd hang on, because theres a few things to get right about it before you do one. Your introductory post should be something that's going to get help you get LOADS of followers, because they're interested in you.

Also, with you being into bread and minecraft, you might find that this is a bit of a niche, and could easily find some natural supporters using whalebot. I will be explaining about this in an upcoming video and tutorial.

For now, keep on posting, daily, and don't forget to engage with anyone who comments on your posts!

Thanks. I have updated my profile.

I have tagged my first post as introductory, not sure if this counts or blocks a chance to do it once again.

Writing everyday will be a challenge. For now I'm on holiday so I manage to do something each day, but it's already difficult.

I think I would be tempted to do another introductory post at some point soon. The intro posts video is one that I want to do next, however im moving house this week so its going to be next week when I get round to doing it and releasing it. In the meantime, here is a great post from @steemship which will give you everything you want to know about doing a great intro post. https://steemit.com/steemit/@steemship/take-two-re-doing-your-introductory-post-the-right-way

This is such a great idea and you are right. Steemit has loads of great advice blogs but we do need a dedicated place to support minnows with practical tips.
You got my 100% support and upvote. Sharing this everywhere.

Thanks @molometer. I hope to be able to bring a great deal of support to lots of people

This post has received a 0.52 % upvote from @drotto thanks to: @banjo.

Thats very kind @drotto. Thanks for that.

Hi @anarcotech, great idea and I think much needed. I have seen mentoring in action in online games like Entropia and it is very useful.

Even though I have only been here a couple of months I have learnt enough to have been helping new players just coming through the door.

Happy to help with mentoring as needed.

Are you going to have a Discord channel for this?

Hi @pennsif. Yes, I quit agree, it can make a big difference. Well, watch this space re mentoring, and I think we are going to have a discord channel dedicated to it, however to begin with we are going to be going directly to peoples posts and mentoring from within. There may also be a delegation system running soon too.

Discord channel is now set up. Find link here: https://discord.gg/KHnZNf9
