Seems that if you rewarded people for number of followers, you would soon get people paying to "follower accumulating bots" in order to get the requisite number of followers to win an award.
That's true, but then again there's the same problem on YouTube as well. One way or another, if someone's willing to buy followers just to receive an honorary award...Oh well, it means that he/she wants it bad. Let them have it, it's business after all. Plus, it will not be for free...They will have to apply for the award once they reach the desirable number of followers (just like on YouTube) and I suppose the whole procedure will require some SBD or Steem as the designers will have to be paid to create the awards, no?
