Wonderful observation! I very recently started trying to get my value up on steem just so that my vote would be worth more, and started kowtowing to some minor nobles in order to effect that. My experience on steem went from appreciating others to thinking about my financial worth. From what you just said, it seems we have been conditioned over centuries to accept this state of affairs, to spend our lives grabbing whatever bones the kings threw us.
