61 accounts to follow to keep up with developments in the steem ecosystem

in #steemit6 years ago

I’ve just put together a spreadsheet summarizing some of the key people and accounts I follow to keep abreast of developments across the steem ecosystem… LINK HERE

Untitled presentation (4).png

Between them the accounts post on the most significant steem developments, or resteem posts in the following general categories:

  • Witnesses (I’ve included the top ten, even if they don’t post that often)
  • Data analysis and data collection posts (people who mine data from the blockchain, and/ or develop tools to allow others to do so).. I’ve also included people who host radio shows and do interviews in this section.
  • The major Dapps which run on the steem blockchain and the people behind them.
  • People who post on ‘steemit issues’ such as self-voting, bid bots etc.
Curation accounts - which tend to provide summaries of the ‘best posts’ on the platform. (NB I haven’t included ‘special interest curation’).
  • Other - coders beware, everybody needs an ‘other’.

I’ve designed the spreadsheet so I can sort it by the above categories, depending on what the account generally posts on.

NB this isn’t an exhaustive list, and I’ll add to it as necessary over time. Also, apologies if there are errors. Do let me know if there are!

I'm gradually getting to the point where I think I know who I need to know to really start interrogating this platform properly...

Sort:

Top of the list! Oh, it's alphabetical... well i'll take that, cheers!

You can sort the spreadsheet Z-A if you'd rather be at the bottom.

It's the start of my lit review btw... it'll extend so I can categorise people according to what issues they support or not and also link to their most significant posts.

I figure I can use it to create all sorts of interesting visuals further down the line.

Sort of a bibliography for the 21st century.

I'll stick with where I am if that's OK.

Sounds like a big project, I mean, we have a million accounts....... :) Perhaps not that big once you get going.

Lists and visuals work for me, I hope the effort pays off. Have you finished at school yet? Can't be long now

I think a sample of 100 would be sufficient to keep tabs on most developments in the steem ecosystem.

Back at school tomorrow for the final 6 week push, but it's very much part time contact hours and just exams, so not too much stress. Although I do mark one of the A-level papers, so that's some extra work.

Mid July is the proper end date, and at that point I'm taking a holiday.

For the next 40 years or so.

Ahh right, yes just 6 weeks until a 40 (at least!) year holiday - i think you manage through this final stretch.

And then for your inauguration as a blockchain hippie, can't wait!

Do I have to buy a robe?

unless you like tea-stained yellow, yes.

Really cool list! Thanks for spreading the awareness to people!

Cheers!

And on the issue of spreadsheets, just wait 'til my 'bad boy' evolves....as linked to above.... I've got big plans for it!

It won't be statistical as such (actually it might have elements of that in it) - more a bibliography spread sheet.... of steem posts by 'big names' on certain issues.

Just a couple of ammendments, about people I know.

  1. @comedyopenmic is also a witness :) Yay. we run 2-3 contests per week. 1 english, 1 spanish and a sporadic meme contest.
  2. Soliciting power website was created by Roelandp
  3. @roelandp.life is Roe's alt account for posting everyday stuff. becuase of his position as a witness he prefers to keep his main account @roelandp free for steemfest, which he organises btw.

Wonderful thanks for the heads up!

I'm just going to update the spreadsheet from now on.... I will add to that.

Karl.

Many thanks for including me in the '61'.

You're welcome - the radio shows are one of the best ways of keeping up with what's occuring.

Actually I'm going to have to edit this to at least reference discord. !

I hope you don't mind my pointing this out but both @anomadsoul and @liberosist are misspelled in the body of the article ;)

Thanks for letting me know - although I think I'm now locked out so I can't modify. At least I can change the spread sheet.

Many thanks for including me in the '61'.
