Steemit Milestone #7: 7 months on Steemit & New HOT TIPS / 第7个月在 Steemit

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemian Friends,

Time has flown by so fast. It has already been 7 months that I am on Steemit. Continue to Steem on even though these days the SBD had gone lower. Wait for the next round of boost which will coming very shortly.

7Month.png

I continue on this series of Steemit milestones to share with newbies what had been working for me on Steemit. And every month I share with you what has worked for me on this platform. Today, I share 2 Big Tips for Steemit Newbies.

First Big Tip on Steemit: Do Consistent Blogging

When you are on Steemit, you need to remember this is a Blogging Platform. Everyday, thousands of people come on this platform to read blogs, to post blogs, to comment on blogs and share with others.

So the most important tip that I want to give to newbies about consistent blogging: KEEP posting Everyday!

Don't disappear from the platform and come back in every week. To keep the momentum going, you must BLOG EVERYDAY!

The Next question is: How to be consistent? Perhaps this is the area that you are struggling with everyday. Read on.

Second Big Tip: Need Strategies in your Consistent Blogging

  • I make plans for my blogging. I don't just go on the dashboard and write my daily journal on Steemit. People are not interested in your daily journal, unless your are a famous person.

  • So what you need to do is to look at the "SKILLS' that you have so that you can give value in your consistent blogging.

  • When you can capitalize on your 'SKILLS' or 'EXPERTISE', then you can work out a plan to contribute value everyday. You don't need to wreck your brain to make new things up everyday. You can create a long term sharing with golden nuggets so that those who read your blog, learn something NEW everyday! They will follow you for sure!

How I Plan My Consistent Blogging in the last 7 months:

  1. I blog about Travels on Steepshot platform with amazing photographs.

  2. I blog about Piano Music on Dsound platform to share some great piano runs and fills sounds.

  3. I blog Music Theory Tutorials on Dtube to teach people how to Read Music Fast Effectively.

  4. I blog Open Source Projects on Utopian.io with translations, suggestions, & tutorials.

  5. I blog Steemit Milestones every month to share tips & new platforms for Steemit newbies.

I don't do all of the above in one post. I stagger them. Sometimes when I have more time, I blog TWICE a day. If I have even more time, I blog THREE times a day. That is probably the most I can go for each day. But even if you BLOG one subject a day, it is very good already.

NEW Platform - Smartsteem

In the month of March, I discovered this NEW Platform. I have only joined this platform for a few weeks and am loving it. You will too when I list out the following 3 Great Advantages for you as you collect Steem and SBD into your wallet daily.

1. Great to buy upvotes to give a guarantee initial boost to your posts

For us newbies, we need to use some of these services to get some upvote boosts for our posts for visibility. I don't recommend buying and selling upvotes but for practical purposes, for us newbies, we need to rely on them a little bit in the beginning.

For Smartsteem, Just like all the other bot services, you can send any amount of SBD or Steem to @smartmarket, and they will upvote you from different users who sell their votes using Smartsteem.

In return you will receive an upvote from 2X to 2.5X of the value of your transaction. All this depends on the current curation reward. This upvote is guarantee which makes it better than going for other bots that nowadays give you less than 2X.

For example, I just need to post the link of my post that I want to boost, and the following will show up:

smartsteem1.png

  • I keyed in 5 SBD for the market
  • In return, they tell me that they can give me an upvote of $11.25 guarantee.

This is what I like about this platform. It is not a bidding gamble. You know for sure what you will get in return of the upvote from the smartmarket.

2. Sell your votes on rainy days when you don't have time to curate

Some days, you may not have time to curate material. So you can use smartsteem for this purpose. I use this on rainy days when I am on a business trip where I cannot upvote and curate material. Then I let smartsteem help me curate valuable material so that I don't waste my upvotes.

So you can go to the dashboard and do the following:

smartsteem4.png

  • I set it to 80% because I still do my own curation to upvote good material. I don't want my upvote to be lower than 80%. You can decide what you want to set here.

  • I set the payout everyday because I use it only on days that I don't have time to curate material and don't want to waste my upvotes.

  • Notice that you get 85% profit sharing which is quite good.

  • Lastly, I have 3 Selections to Vote for who: Everyone, Choose Users, SmartSteemStars. I choose the last one and let the platform curate those users with Stars meaning that they are excellent bloggers with valuable material.

Daily Payout for this is quite good:

I did this yesterday, just 19 hours ago and I got a return of 2.392 SBD

3. Bonus Rewards when you Refer Others to this platform.

Smartsteem has a referral program with your referral link.

This is my referral link:

https://smartsteem.com?r=rosatravels

By clicking on the above link, you can join Smartsteem through my referral link. Smart steem wants to reward us when we invite friends and other fellow steemians to smartsteem. By doing so I receive 0.5% profit of every sold vote by my friends. The cool thing is that this profit is not taken away from you, but it is given to us from the smartsteem platform for promoting for them.

You can do the same too.

So do use my referral link so that I can see how many people I have helped in the process. You don't lose anything at all.

On my dashboard, you can see the number of referral bonuses I have gotten so far:

Although the .5% profit you get from each vote from your referrals is not great, but they do add up as time goes on. Right now I have 583 items in about the span of 3 weeks or so. Pretty good, eh?

I would love to have you listed on my referral board. So let me know if you joined through my link here and we will continue to help each other out in the long term:

Thank you for your attention and I wish you all success on Steemit,

Thanks for you inspirational and valuable suggestion on working with steemit community. You always made an amazing content. This post deserves much more as it uplifts spirit of this community🙂.

Smartsteem seems promising and interesting. I had joined smartsteem long time ago. It is absolutely a great choice if we want to promote a content or maximize our growth rate in this community🙂

Yes! We continue to do what works to make progress, even when it seems very little at this moment. One day, it will become very easy because of the hard work we put into it now.

And I wish a best of luck to overcome all hurdles here🙂
Keep on steeming mam

Great information @rosatravels. This is very good information. Thank you for sharing it.

Great @terrybrock. Glad you found the info useful. :)

I like your optimism towards the platform which what a newbie like me needs. Personally, I struggle with consistency as it is really challenging to adjust to my system to blog everyday until it became a norm/habit.
I tend to be so hard on myself to come up and experimenting different approaches so I would not do crappy or a one-liner posting. I really admire your desire to share with newbies like me and the Steemit community. I am happy and motivated that I learn something new.
Thank you for sharing the knowledge @rosatravels, we need more people like you in here.

Yes @zestforlife. Newbies need to know what really works. I am actually still a newbie but my newbie language will be fully understood by other newbies because of similar struggles we go through. As for meeting the challenge of consistency, the tip is to look into your skills and what you can share. When you have skills, you will have 100+ posts to do right away. When you have to think of new things to post everyday, your brain gets tired and it is difficult to keep going.

People are not interested in your daily journal, unless your are a famous person.

I just realize about that. I will try to find out new topics to post and survive on steemit.

I realized that after my first 10 posts on Steemit. I thought people were really interested in my life. So I changed my strategy after my first month into Steemit. So maybe one day when I become famous and have a lot to offer, I will do more journal blogging. :)

Thanks @rosatravels. You always have very valuable tips.

You are welcome. :)

Congratulations @rosatravels, this post is the third most rewarded post (based on pending payouts) in the last 12 hours written by a Superuser account holder (accounts that hold between 1 and 10 Mega Vests). Great that you find the tips helpful!

You are right, it is difficult for newbies to get discovered.
For example, I posted yesterday asking for help and did't get even 2 views.
Thanks for your post.

When you begin, it is best to provide value to the platform. If you have a question, you need to be more specific in the blog post with images so that people can come in to help you.

This is awesome post, very explanatory. Thank you.

Yes. Follow along and you will succeed.
