Why I Am Happy With The Steemit Ads And Where I Want To See Them Go
I know ads are usually a topic of split opinion. A lot of people do not like them nor want to see them on their social media platform. I agree we should not have data selling and ads that are targeted by collecting your data but using ads that do not take away from the user experience and help pay of steemit is a positive for anyone who uses steem. These ads will help pay for costs which in turn will stop steem from constantly selling steem to pay for those costs and this will ultimately take off selling pressure.
But I would like to see them take it a step further. If we can get this site big enough and start bringing in real ad revenue a part of that money could go into a buyback program which would help to increase the price of steem. And when the price goes up more people tend to use this platform. Plus it is good advertising to have your coin high on the coinmarketcap list.
I am not saying lets plaster ads everywhere and people can still use other interfaces besides steemit if they really don't like ads. But if we utilize them properly we can help grow this network to compete with the bigger competition.
And ads don't have to suck, look at movie theater previews. Those are ads and people go out of their way to watch them. Why? Because it is gets them excited for something they want to see. Something to think about as we continue to use ads in this space
Anyone else want to see a buyback?

It all depends on the type of advertising, and the way you want to capture the viewer. There are ads that are very striking and cause to see them. Everything is in the strategy.

Well I don’t mind the adds!
I do understand that these are hard days for the steem inc. But it would be great if the would put a certain percentage of their profita in the reward pool or to pay out to the SP holders.
That would create another incentive to hold your SP!

Im not sure... I am eager to see our platform grow but it seems like ads are a dangerous and slippery slope.
Dont you worry we will start with non invasive ads but it will grow as it has on Youtube and Facebook and now you cant avoid it?
