RE: 24 Hour Contest: SEO homework

in #steemit6 years ago

Man that is funny.

I just did some SEO fro a client yesterday and it is on top of my mind at the moment.

Some of the keys to SEO include:

  • Key words - Obviously google and other engines pick out the words that are most prevalent in the site so an article would have to be the same
  • Key word proximity - This one is neat and shows that search engines have gotten smarter and have added expensive algorithms to not only search out the key words but give greater weight when they are close to eachother and used in context for powerful sentences.
  • Freshness - obviously when a site is refreshed and new content is added often, it favours well with search engines. Your blog should be the same.
  • Link Backs - when you link sites in your website (or article here) then that does wonders. What is even better is when outside sites link back to your website(article.) In the case of steemit, having links from twitter, facebook, reddit etc pointing towards your article will be powerful.
*Accurate info - I make sure that all the information (hours of operation, syntax of business name, address, phone number etc) is accurate and match on all pages/sites. I am not sure the translation here except make sure you are consistent and accurate in your blogs.

I could go on but many have stopped reading already!
